Thank you Busy, it helps hubby was away so much (and we ate out a lot!)
This month will Ben more, I've already spent £70 of this month's budget on a big shop today, mum and dad are here for the week and they don't eat pasta or rice......

So, back with my daily update: £70 spent at the supermarket, but the fridge is bulging and so are the cupboards and I've stocked up on baking stuff for this year's bake off. Lunch out today (obviously, we all know what my restaurant spends are like!) But that's it. Some cash in my purse that should keep me going this week. But I will need to put fuel I need my car before my long work trip on Tuesday

Looks good Wishing, and sounds like you've had some lovely meals out, well worth it. Your interest per day on the mortgage is brilliant, so low. I'm desperate to know what mine is for August so I'll need to log in today.
Love your food budget, I need to tweak mine some more this month, must research recipes for kidney and black beans as have lots to use... Any ideas welcome as I mainly do veggie chilli.

    Hi Eager,
Thank you, I can't believe how much the interest has dropped over time. I aim to pay at least £400 a month capital off the mortgage, that used to be easy (some months it was nearly £1k at one point) but priorities and income changes. Would I go back to work full time just to reduce the term of my mortgage. No, I wouldn't.

As for beans, look at slow cooker recipes, lots of them use beans.

A nsd, but my mobile bill has been generated so I've got a tilly tidy from that.
Hubby is home, he's very tired, but I have booked a lie in for the morning. I am exhausted from the last few weeks and I have a crazy work week coming up.

I've done some baking this evening, but of a disaster, so I need to get some more eggs & cocoa powder tomorrow and have another go.

Tomorrow I also need to fill my car up, get a new headlight bulb (again!!!) and get ready for work this week. My mum and dad arrive at some point for the childcare gaps this week. I'm looking forward to seeing them. We've not told Pickle yet, he has been too excited having daddy home
Today to cope with any more excitment.

    Updates below....

Hi EL - try Deliciously Ella , there's a lovely veggie shepherd's pie using black beans and sweet potato mash. Black bean burgers are also nice as are quesadillas and burritos.

Sorry to hijack Wish, good luck with your frantic week :)

Your daily interest rate is great! Are you not tempted to OP 2p every single day to tidy it up though? I think I would be! Ours is something like £7 a day I think. Haven't checked for a while
