A very boring day money wise today, direct debits went out this morning, mortgage interest added, goals sorted. And a nsd to start the month.
Be tried meal planning today, but struggled as I can't work out when hubby wants feeding this week, he's not away, but I'm not sure whether the local jobs he's on means he's home for tea or not. As he went out at 3am this morning, came home at 4pm and went straight to bed I don't think I'm going to get any sense out of him today.
Puss-cat is looking decidedly under the weather, probably been in a fight, but we can't find any injuries.
I've spoken to the childminder we preferred yesterday and are going to sort out the forms and paperwork on Tuesday.
Hubby is off tomorrow, so I think we are going to have a family day out at the nature reserve, we have membership cards, so no entrance fee. I'd take a picnic, but hubby is a cafe person. Which is fine if he pays.
I want to carry on sorting the office out, so suspecting hubby is staying in bed, I'll do that after I've eaten.
7 sleeps till the new job.

Evening all.
We've had a lovely, family day out at the nature reserve today and a low spend day overall.
Annual membership is paid for by hubby's aunt & uncle who are massive birders, so they bought it for Pickle really. He loves going to feed the ducks and generally wander round.
I'm finding meal planning hard at the moment. The oven is kaput, the hob still works & ive got the slow cooker and the microwave but, the electrician is coming tomorrow to put the fused spur in for the new duel fuel range so I don't know if I'll have the hob from tomorrow until the new one is installed (next week sometime) and I don't know how long the power will be off for tomorrow, so can't risk planning a slow cooker meal. Too many variables. Ah well, this too shall pass.
This morning I signed up to a new union in preparation for starting supply work. I was with ATL but they've now merged with the nut and I find the nut a bit too quick to threaten strike action. So, by signing up to the nasuwt for the first time ever, I get a year's free membership. So the £200 I'd saved for union fees has bee redistributed. Some to the seriously depleted Christmas pot, some to the rainy day fund (should now be able to pay childminding deposit & initial payments without dropping below £1k and, of course, some to the mop pot. I also noticed that I've got more than enough in the c0stc0 membership pot, so redistributed the extra there too. It felt like lots of quick wins this morning.
I'll put £10 a month into the union feed pot so, when I do have to pay, there will be enough to cover it. But, this is also a £10 reduction on what I was putting away, so rainy day fund monthly amount has been upped by £10.
Enough waffle from me. Have a good evening.
6 sleeps till the new job.

Evening all, last night's post disappeared (I think I fell asleep) it wasn't in any way riveting (my diary never is) but basically - breakfast out with hubby, random supermarket shop, so yesterday was a spend day. Electrician has put the line in for the cooker, I went to a meeting.
I'm also feeling rubbish.
Today has been a nsd. Hubby is working, Pickle and I went to a gathering of the people who we volunteer with on a Wednesday. I'd already pre paid the ticket in September and I pre paid for my bus ticket yesterday then I didn't spend a penny. Woop woop.
I'm still feeling rubbish, all achy and flu like with stomach cramps. All I want to do is go to bed but Pickle isn't asleep yet. (And I can hear the washing machine spinning so will have that to empty and hang up too).
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
4 sleeps till the new job.

Evening all. I'm feeling particularly poorly, many visits to the smallest room, raised temperature, aches & pains and stomach cramps. Not fun at all.
Add to this that hubby has worked some ridiculous hours this weekend and is quite rightly just wanting to sleep and a 1 year old. It does not make for a happy Team Wish. My friend took Pickle to church with her and her children this morning which gave me over 2.5hours rest. When he came home he has a 10 minute cuddle with Daddy who'd just walked in, then napped for 1.5 hours. These two things have saved my sanity today, I am so grateful for amazing friends who just step in when the world feels like it's ending.
As soon as Pickle is asleep it's another dose of paracetamol, a hot water bottle and bed. Really sad to be missing out on the fireworks, but needs must.
As I've not left the house all day it's been a nsd so at least that's something.
I've postponed the cleanerso no cleaner proofing required tonight. And I'm hoping hubby sleeps well enough to take Pickle swimming tomorrow.
3 sleeps till the new job.

Just popping in to say...
My new oven is being installed today. I'm so excited. Despite not being very money saving (it is an £800 range cooker) it will save us money on the energy bills (I hope) as
Our current oven is 1 single huge gas range oven, so you are heating the entire thing for a single tray of food. This one has 2 electric ovens and a separate grill (electric I think) and 5 gas burners.
It's a rated (at least) for energy efficiency.
But, at the end of the day... I've got a new oven!

Evening all,
Thanks for commenting actions, the oven is fabulous, all new and shiny (although a bit smelly at the moment from being so new)
I am starting to feel better, hubby has taken Pickle out for most of the day today to allow me to rest and, for once, I did. I had a lie down and a little snooze, then a Netflix session whilst sat on the sofa. still suffering from the gastro symptoms, but the aching has thankfully subsided.
Hubby's alarm is set for 5:45 in the morning as he's off to the big smoke again. Pickle and I are going to the Childminder's to do the paperwork and to sort his settling in sessions. Then, we must do a food shop. I've also got a few forms to fill in for work on Wednesday and need to gather my documents for a dbs check.
Due to today's rest session, it's another nsd. Woop woop.
2 sleeps till the new job. (Eeeek)
