Would appreciate real world feedback on 'up to 17mb' BB

So I have to leave VM soon and one of the deals I have come across is Sky Unlimited up to 17mb. It is free for 1 year so it's just the £18.99 line rental for the year plus £75 MasterCard so works out fairly cheap.
The line speed is somewhere between 3.8 to 8. It would just be used for Netflix and browsing the web. Would this package be sufficient for that? I've only really had fibre for the last few years as part of bundles so have no real experience.

Depends on who, what and how many would be using it in a worse case scenario.0

If it was a maximum of one person streaming and then 1 to 2 browsing the web would that be ok?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Depends if you get 3.8 or 8mbps.
On 8meg, streaming one HD video should leave enough bandwidth fo a bit of browsing, unless it's browsing of image heavy sites like Instagram etc.0 -
Ok thanks. I think I'll stick with fibre then. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I've noticed that if I am doing a sky on demand HD download and speedtest my line it can show a decrease in test speed by up to half normalEx forum ambassador

The NOW TV fibre unlimited combo is £30 a month for 12 months and includes the cost of a streaming subscription so doesn't work out much more so I think I'll go with that. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

virgin isnt actually fibre thats a bit of a lie on their part
its a fibre to the cab the bit into your house will be a coax cable
even in their advert it shows them screwing a coax cable into the hub0 -
I wish that is where their lies ended but unfortunately not.
Really annoyed because now I'm going to have to pay someone else a set up fee when I should have been with VM for another 8 months.
IME I thought no one could beat BT for incompetence once something goes wrong but VM have actually ended up a close 2nd.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
