  • If youd read the newbies thread it tells you how to get these stats from the BMPA database.

Court fees - you could just do an obvious search ongoogle. Theyre listed on the gove website! About £25 filing fee is usual, £25 hearing fee and UP TO £50 for filing the claim, but this is only claimable if they use solicitiros and given the DIRE filing recently, utterly contestable in court - no way did they ACTUALLY spend £50 worth of time.

I would, but don't leave it too late.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

I went through similar thoughts before I sent my letter. Was it more likely to antagonise, or deter PP?

They are bullies. They prey on the week. Sending a letter just shows that you are more clued up than the average Joe. If it's is just for one PCN it will make them question if it's worth chasing from a financial point of view, or whether to victimise easier / weaker targets.

    Send it.
  • I have now had a letter from zzps limited. They have added £72 of admin fees. It says do not ignore this letter.

Do I just ignore and wait for court date?

Ignore it, then read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #4 which is all about debt collectors, which I would anticipate you have already read, given your thread has now been on this forum for over 4 months.

  • I did read it but as you say it all started 4 months ago. I'm sorry to annoy you by asking questions that are covered by the newbie thread but this whole thing is making me feel sick. I want to cry. I wish I'd paid it when it was £60. My husband is worried we're gonna end up paying hundreds of pounds. And I've never done this before and I hate getting a letter from a debt collector and assume there will be loads more.

    Please don't worry!

I am a wife and Mum and I laughed when I got these letters (my husband was worried but I soon explained the scam). I used to collect these for fun, before POPLA existed and became so easy to win.

You really should read post #4 of the NEWBIES thread - it's not to fob you off, it's pointing you to the right advice. I think one of the links there shows you piles of laughed-at, PPC pseudo 'debt' letter collections like these:

    LOL!

Even if you got a court claim and even if you lost (and 99% of people here win, and they are ordinary people like you and me) you would pay LESS - yes LESS - than the demands have artificially escalated the sum to at this threatogram stage.

No CCJ, no effect on credit score, nowt, even if lost (the only time to pay these is if a Judge says so).

No-one comes knocking. No-one flags anything on your credit record. This is all about intimidation.

DON'T do that thing of discussing it between you and deciding to ignore us and ring debt collectors!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

To put your mind 100% at rest, ZZPS are just down and outs
and are employed by PPC's to scare and threaten you.

You have no contract with ZZPS so they are talking out of
"where the sun don't shine" with their stupid admin charge

We see on a regular basis the cr*p that ZZPS dish out
    in their stupid letters

You simply don't have the want or time to deal with these
"head in the clouds" timewasters ....
ZZPS CAN DO NOTHING .... ZERO

As ZZPS is not the owner of this so called debt
they themselves do not have the power to take you
    to court

All they can do is inform the PPC that they failed.
If you hear from the PPC DIRECT (not ZZPS droids)
come back here for all the help you need to zap this

And NO, this scam does not allow you to be charged
hundreds of pounds and certainly not addons from
    idiotic debt collectors
  • I have re-read it but thank you so so much for your comments. You've put my mind at ease and restored my resolve to beat this stupid thing. It does make me so cross that they can intimidate without it being illegal. When would letters being sent be considered harassment? Anyone ever gone down that route?
