Currys Replacement Cooker Faulty After 9 Months!!

I had a replacement cooker delivered to me on the 18/10/2016 after the last one developed a fault ie the glass door exploded when using the pyro cleaning function!!
Today using the replacement cooker, it wouldn't come on as normal!!
Tried several times!!
Any advice please!?
Replacement cooker is 9 months old!!
Bloody joke, I just want an appliance that works!!

It is that purchase date that is significant.0 -
Original cooker was purchased sometime in September 2015.0

The Consumer Rights Act didn't come into effect until 1st October 2015.
You now have a cooker that was purchased nearly two years ago.

What exactly doesn't happen?
Is there power to the cooker?
Is the thing still within it's warranty period?
Can you provide a proof of purchase if necessary?
How did you pay for it? By card? Credit? Something else?0 -
I have obtained original reciept from when oven was first purchased.
When you push the button for it to come on it doesnt!!
It was paid for by debit card.
I though the Sale of Goods Act came into enforce before the new one did!!
Tried at least 5 times tonite!!0 -

If you were to call out an engineer when the problem was due to there being no electricity to the cooker, then you would need to pick up the whole bill.
To avoid that you need to be sure the cooker is at fault.
But hold on a minute, you haven't told us, is this an electric cooker or is it gas?0 -
Its ie an electric cooker.
Yes there is power and it does start up.
But when you push the button in, its not right and I reckon its the cooling fan TBH0 -

If you want help here you will need to be more specific.
What isn't right? Is there power, does it heat up, what happens to make you think it isn't right?0 -
Have a read of MSE's Consumer Rights guide.
You could report the issue to Currys, but they would probably ask you to prove that the fault was present at the time of the sale but not necessarily apparent at that time.
Their favourite tactic seems to be to offer an engineer's visit for a fee and if the engineer decides the problem is due to an inherent fault then you get that fee back.
You didn't say whether it is still in the warranty period?0 -
Yes, it has a 5 year warranty with SMEG.
I phoned them this morning and its completely free for an engineer to come out and see whats wrong with the appliance!! As its covered by the warranty.0
