Ebay like people to think that accepting paypal boosts sales, however just as many people who have been burnt by paypal are put off by sellers who only take paypal.

Dave, as usual you're being ridiculous. Why would any sane person
have a problem with a seller who accepted the ONLY method of payment that is protected by ebay?

That's a rhetorical question and I'd much prefer it if you didn't bother to answer, because I have better things to do than argue with your gibberish today.

Because plenty of people have lost money/items thanks to paypal scams, and don't want anything to do with them ever again.

Providing a wide range of payment options, and items that are in demand is the key to attracting customers and making money on ebay.

I've finally seen the light, you're a genius! Items that are in demand? Wide range of payment options? That's where I've been going wrong all these years!

It would probably boil down to what you would accept as your "profit margin".

I had big problems with this when i was selling a lot of my CD collection a few years ago. After all the fees were taken out and adding in the 'time/ hassle' of doing the auctions/posting etc. it wasn't really worth it in the end and after i'd sold a few i decided to sell locally for cash instead.

Ebay listing fees, final value credits and then paypal fees means you are essentially hit 3 times. Plus you will probably be blagged/forced into signing up for a Premier Account before too long which means higher fees.

Paypal seems good for buyers but not always good for sellers. I ditched it 2 years ago after their non-existent seller protection policy sided with a con-artist.
