Just got back from a lovely weekend in Birmingham - didn't really spend much, other than a couple of drinks and some cheap Ubers.

I finished a PA study that I was involved with that paid out £10 so I've just cashed out £33 ish which is great! Got about £6 still waiting to be approved but that can wait til next payout.

I didn't realise Swago ended today so I am just quickly completing the easy things... visiting stores from my mobile etc - the spins are sometimes quite useful!

I got my updated Credit Club report today - credit score is going up. I am now up to 963/999 - I can't remember what it was before but I am now in the 'excellent' category. This doesn't reflect the debt I have as that is in my Mum's name (she took out a loan for me as I couldn't get one and this is the only way I could clear the debt). I still have a very low credit hit rate as I applied for a few loans/credit cards just before my Mum helped me out.

I've really struggled with Slimming World and saving this month - I will still have saved money but not as much as I would have liked. The two things have gone hand in hand... I really struggle with binge eating and have ended up spending lots of money when doing this.

Need to just get back in control!!

just read diary from beginning to end, well done on the savings and the being able to cover emergencies like the car, a lot of people here say sort a £1000 Efund.

speaking of the car i noticed you say you put £50 in it.

its worth looking into how much volume you put in and use, as the volume aka the litres / gallons doesnt change but the price of it does! reset the trip computer and do some easy maths for your work travel / usual travel.

also if you fill it up every time you go, your in effect paying to lug around a full tank and thus it will cost more, maybe only slightly each week, but it would probably add up to a full "free" tank a year maybe, if you only filled up half etc, if you think about the extra weight of "convenience" i suppose. same as if you have a boot full of gear :)

Thanks for the advice! I had thought about the full tank of petrol thing before... I'll consider it. I have to say I love just having a tank that lasts two weeks and not having to think about it. I guess that's the convenience!

A very, very, VERY busy week! We have had parent's evenings until 6 every evening this week and so I haven't had a chance after school to mark/plan etc which has just meant the most stressful week. At least next week is half term... although I'll probably spend half of that catching up now!

I cashed out about £33 from PA which was great and I am close to another £3 Amazon voucher on SB. Loving the look of my savings in my sig at the moment - almost £1700.

I definitely haven't been as good as I could with saving this month, however I am hoping to still have an extra £100ish at the end of month, plus what I have already added into my savings throughout the month.

I bought my Mum's Christmas present the other day which is a pair of wellies from Joules - with a discount code I found, it cost me about £40 - glad I've got that cost out of the way now before Christmas. I spend the most on my Mum and my BF so just his to get sorted and then everyone else is about £20 or less.

Really looking forward to having the week off...I need it!

  • Till 6 every evening?
Are you in a maintained school? I'm not sure how they can fit that into your directed hours.

Doesn't fit in to our directed hours at all! We are now part of an academy trust, however this is what has always happened. Parent's evenings from 3:45-6, Monday to Thursday. I book one 15 min slot out as a break but parents always run over so this ends up being taken up. We also never really finish til at least 6:15 too. It is absolutely exhausting and you end up getting in extra early and using your lunch breaks to mark/plan and are still behind.

Just one of the MANY problems! :rotfl:

Well I made it! I've had to bring home 64 books which have 5 pieces of work to mark altogether... so 320 pieces of work to mark over the holidays... yeah teachers get it easy! :rotfl:

Add to that the ridiculous amount of planning I have...

My plan is to try to get that done tomorrow... I'll have a proper lie in (much needed) and then try to treat it as if it is a normal work day and just smash out all the work! That's the plan anyway!

  • Good luck with the planning and marking today.
Teaching is hard, and getting harder.
Enjoy your rest when you get it.

Teaching is just ridiculous. I’ve bought a box of books to mark and assess. I’m going into school for a couple of hours first thing Monday too to sort some stuff out.

We have a new head and he’s changing lots of things, it all adds to the stress. He’s jetted off to Malta for a week, mmmm!

Although we are off to London on Wednesday for a coup,e of days.
