@savingholmes I actually find that selling things for a small price makes them more likely to leave the house speedily than giving them away for free. People turn up more for things they're buying. Odd but true.
Str33tb33s came through with a 20p payment last night so that was flipped straight over to the mortgage. I am finding tiny sums each day to be strangely motivating. Just have to keep finding them! Luckily last night while scouting for things to declutter for my challenge over on OS I found a champagne cork with 50p in it from my 18th, which is luckily still legal tender so that's joined the pot of shrapnel that needs paying in in order to OP.2 -
Gah, I only got a 10p in the cork from my 18th 😮!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Not only that @South_coast I also found a £2 special issue from 1995 which appears to be worth £5 to £10 on fleabay. Now just need to actually list it.2

Ah yes, I've got two unusual coins I've been meaning to list for....probably about a year? Hopefully they are appreciating in value while I procrastinate 🤣!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Well today has been a bit of an up and down one. Our upstairs toilet bust at midnight, leaking round the seal with the waste pipe. This has happened before, we got someone in who Mcgyvered it but warned if it happened again we'd need a new toilet. The plumber who came this morning announced it was probably due to the soil pipe being partially blocked so that's been... I don't know, power washed? Sandblasted? Hoovered??!! this afternoon. New toilet tomorrow. Anyway, vast expense. But that's what emergency funds are for.
On the other hand I managed to spend an hour in the garden in the subzero hacking down a buddleia which needs to go so I can mend the fence, and measured the size of new fence posts I need. And now I'm sitting in front of a nice fire warming up with some of the very dry old buddleia helping the blaze.
Refund from the bed delivery finally arrived in the account so I will transfer that £25 back to the EF/ house savings. Another 20p on the way from Str33tb33s as well.

I'm like you @Viking_mfw I like to have a balance in my energy account just in case but I don't think many of the energy suppliers pay interest on a balance anymore so much better you get it back.
Well done for tackling the buddleia, give it a few months and that will be bursting back into life and will end up twice as big!2 -

Oh! I've voluntarily planted a buddleia but promised myself I will keep it under control! I think your idea about fruit and veg is a good one though! @Viking_mfw2
