Best washing machine under £300

Hi guys
I need a new washing machine and haven't got a clue where to start... I've been researching online for a week and am even more confused now!!! Am hoping you fine people might share some of your knowledge.
Single guy, currently 1x white, 1x dark load a week plus towels or bedding etc as necessary. Assuming 7kg would be ok? My current old one doesn't say what size it is (bendix BIW105W 595mm wide). Budget of £300 max but if it's cheaper, all the better!!!
I'm not looking for cheap, but want the best quality one for the money. A smart one would be great as I'm fairly clueless about spin cycles and wash programs but might need a deal to be that lucky!!!
Not sure what else? White preferably. Front loading.
Thanks in advance

£300 is not a lot of money for a washing machine particularly if you want it to last. There are lots of cheap brands with sub-£300 machines but they are a lottery in terms of reliability. As you don't use your machine very heavily you stand a reasonable chance of a machine lasting quite a long time.
I'd recommend Bosch - 2 year parts and labour warranty as standard. Zanussi worth considering but only 1 yr warranty.
Bosch for £267 http://ao.com/product/wab24161gb-bosch-serie-2-washing-machine-white-41105-1.aspx 6kg probably adequate size for your needs.
7Kg Bosch at Currys for £299 http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/household-appliances/laundry/washing-machines/bosch-serie-4-wan24100gb-washing-machine-white-10145997-pdt.html
Hotpoint/Indesit/Hoover/Hisense best avoided. Beko is probably the best of the budget brands.0 -
With a £300 budget just buy any cheap machine and get an extended 5 year warranty. Then you know you're ok for at least 5 years.0

If you get more clothes and go bigger you can cut the number of washes down.
Our 8kg takes a months worth of one persons kit in 3 washes.
underwear and grubby stuff long hot wash.
jeans/lounge type wear medium.
shirts. (maybe 2 of those if you have white work shirts and others)
Some models are store specific.
Hotukdeals is a OK place to look out for washing machine deals

also pricespy for more price info and price history.

for a good guide to offerings and all the various fancy options use the Beko site.

WS832425W is around at £200(Argos). which seems good value has plenty of features good rating.
Start with that and see if you can find something better value.

Hmmm, the extended warranties are often not worth the paper they are written on so if you went this way, consider buying from John Lewis who have a far better approach to customer service.
For example, we have a cheap machine, using the same thoughts, it would last us 5 years due to the warranty and work out at £80 a year (incl warranty). After 2 years, intermittently, the machine wouldn't come off spin on its own - it would sit there for hours if you let it. We called up currys / warranty company and they came out - replaced the main board. Machine still did it intermittently. Called them again - they came out and couldn't find any fault so nothing changed. Just not interested, even when I said I would take a video of it.
We ended up buying a Miele for £999 with a 10 year manufacturers warranty - 12 years later, we still have it and not a single issue with it.
So thats worked out cheaper than the original £80 a year we budgeted for on the cheap machine.......0 -
Grundig(Beko clone) machine come with a 5y warranty they are currys only,
the 7kg model was £300 at the beginning of the year might not be worth waiting for a better than current sale.0 -
This one at £120 would probably be OK offer is still on till 12th, but Out of stock.
might be worth setting up an back in stock alert

Totally.
This below series of machines are fantastic, ultra quiet drive system, 7kg. you can feel the quality in them.

£299
It may only have a 1200 spin but don't get hung up on spin speeds, a 1400 spin only gets clothes 5-6% drier than a 1200. A lot of cheap machines now go up to even 1600 but the gain is marginal but the wear on the bearings multiplies many times over leading to a short life.European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.0 -

Or save a bit and buy the same one from Boots:

Erm.. thats not the same, its series 2 not a series 4, IMHO a lot inferior for not much less money. Same one on Boots is £329.European for 3 weeks in August, the rest of the year only British and proud.0
