What is the legal position with alcohol if an ASDA delivery arrives later than 10pm?

I realise that it's not possible to order alcohol online if you choose a delivery slot AFTER 10pm. But what happens if you book between 9pm and 10pm for your delivery, and ASDA then contacts you to say the delivery is going to be at least an hour late?
I have just received a "We're sorry..." text to say my 9-10pm order will now arrive between 9.51pm and 10.51pm. Does anyone know what will happen with the alcohol that I've got included with my order? I'm worried that licensing laws will mean that they will refuse to hand them over (which will be a total pain in the neck because I've got people coming over for dinner tomorrow and won't have time to go shopping beforehand!).
Has anyone experienced anything similar?

I have had a similar thing happen and I got the alcohol!!!
It was only just past 10pm though.
As the delivery was INTENDED before 10pm I believe it is fine.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Call them or ask on social media.0

I was frightened to do this in case it alterted them to the fact that my order contains alcohol. I'm hoping that the driver will just hand everything over and not bother about it being after 10pm.
Its been a while since I looked over the licensing scotland act but I can't recall it saying that delivering alcohol after 10pm is an offence, only that it would be an offence to sell alcohol after the time they are licensed to sell it (which for an offy would be 10pm)You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Is the store it comes from a 24 hour store or a store with 8 - 8 opening hours ?
Maybe the license covers situations like yours.0 -

This opens wider questions :
What if the van arrives at 9.59.30, but you take a minute to open the door ?
Does the store have a "call and collect" service ? What if you ordered and paid, but then were late going to collect ?
Large UK stores have a 6 hour window on Sundays ( usually 10am - 4pm ) for everything ; I'd like to know how they deal with that.0
