I can honestly say that I haven’t had an increase in DD payments in the past two years (5 suppliers). GBEnergy reduced my DD payment the day before they went bust. Indeed, looking back the only supplier that tried to increase my DD was in fact E.oN. CS, sorry Malc, were as helpful as a dead kipper so I voted with my feet - as luck would have it, to a cheaper supplier (GBEnergy).

It's remarkable the different experiences people can have with the same supplier?

I can honestly say, I've been with E.on some years now, and I've never had a problem with DD's. They've been at the same level of payment for some years, but maybe that's because i have remarkably consistent usage? Last year i was £9 in credit at the end of the year. I consider that to be very accurate predictive use. That's less than £1 per month, over payment.

This year, my DD was reduced to a quarter of my normal payment at the last bill, but then, I haven't used as much energy, in the last year. However, I've had to have the heating on, in June. But I'm sure they will increase my DD again at some point, if it looks like i will be in debit at the end of the year. But that's a rare occurrence.

I still have just over 12 months remaining on my tariff, but I've already a fair idea of which supplier and tariffs i will choose, (subject to the market and availability at the time).
