This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Morning everyone,

I had trouble sleeping last night where it was so hot and sticky so feel a little wrung out this morning. I have been awake since 4.00am. Tried to get back to sleep, but couldn’t so gave in and got up and had a cup of tea. I have been in bed reading since then. At least it has meant that I have had the doors and windows open since then, so it is lovely and cool in the house.

I think and afternoon nap will be called for today though.

It was lovely weather here yesterday, and the forecast for today looks good, provided we miss the storms.

Today I am going to pop out shortly to get the few fresh bits and pieces that I need for the weekend. I’m hoping to get out and back before it gets too hot.

This afternoon I may go and have a walk around the park, keeping to the shady areas, and maybe sit and people watch for a little while.

I hope that you all have a good day whatever you are doing.

Good morning, like Holly Harvey, I was too hot so have ended up downstairs where it is cooler and sitting by an open window.
DS came down and told me there had been a storm but no sign of it and the air feels heavy.
No particular plans for today so I'll just wish everyone a good day.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

    Good morning everyone :hello:

I'm another one who has been up for ages but I have just made myself some scrambled eggs on toast and a big cup of tea so I feel slightly more human now :D.

Planning on having a quiet day today as I have no appointments or friends visiting. I have just been looking up recipes and have decided on sticky lemon chicken and rice for tea tonight as I have all the ingredients in already.

Weightwatchers was a bit sad for me as I had put on 2lb this week but I was very lucky really to just get away with that as I have been stress eating for a couple of weeks now. I have planned out my meals and snacks for the day however so I am hoping for a loss next week as long as I keep it up all week.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

I'm off to France today! Hope the weather is better than here, it's pouring down.

DW and fridge emptied and switched off, the doors are wedged open so some air can circulate.

Not to worry dumpling, 2lb will be easily shifted again.
    I like your tactics Nelski!
A trip to the docs will do no harm karcher, that's what they are there for.
Sorry to hear you're not too good LW, feel better soon.

OK, better get showered and shave those important little places! Take care. XX

    Morning everyone

HollyHarvey - thanks for starting us off x

Hugs to those that want/need one x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

DH and DS1 up and gone to work, DS2 still in his pit. Will wake him shortly.

I've been awake for most of the night too - not for the same reasons as most of the previous posters. Incident happened in the early hours nearby, so had blue flashing lights lighting up our bedroom since around 1.30am and still ongoing. Hopefully will get sorted soon.

Dinner last night was HM chicken, bacon and mushroom pie, new potatoes, carrots, broc and gravy. Tonight I'm not sure but I'll get something organised later.

I'll be heading into town first thing to visit the building society and bank, then will be home to crack on with the housework and ironing, will try to get as much done as possible.

    Keep safe and well x

    Morning all,

Bin day today. I've made full use of it. Got a trailer full of junk out hubby's shed to dispose of. I recon it will take me a few weeks to get rid of it all.

Not much to do today but I've got some programs I want to catch up on.

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a great day all

Good Morning all and thanks for the start hollyharvey very warm here already and its forecast to be around 29-30c at the very least

Took DGS Ben to the airport last night and even at 8.30p.m. it was 27c He is very excited and just messaged me to say his overnight sleep in Dublin airport wasn't too bad :) he can sleep on a sixpence that boy :0 his plane takes off for Montreal this morning and going via Dublin saved him buckets of cash :) even though he has a 40 minute lay-over at Heathrow and he slept on a bench at the airport last night :) what it is to be that young .

Its my DGD Holly's 24th birthday today and she is coming for a full english Nanny breakfast this morning as she has the day off.

We were going to go out for it but my gardener is due to come this morning so I said we would have it at home (she is quite happy about that as she loves my full english) No doubt I will hear all about he exploits It will be nice to see her as I've not seen her for awhile as we are both always so busy ,she is a school teacher at a primary school.

Then this afternoon I shall be at DDs with DGS Henry as he also like my cooking :) and I will do him some lunch and probably watch some tennis with him.it will be far too warm to sit in their garden until around 4 because it gets the full glare of the sun until then.

No shopping to do at least so a nice relaxing day hopefully :):):)

<<hugs>> for those who are having a tough time, Hope Lamewolf s OK and we see her back on again soon.

Take care all and make sure you use the sun cream as that sun can be dangerous without it

    Cheers chums

    JackieO xx

P.S. have a great holiday camelot I can almost guarantee you will have brilliant weather in France

Been awol for a while as had personal carp to deal with.
Been told by doc that I now have social anxiety disorder as well as depression. Going out anywhere is a real pain as I can't face people without a panic attack. Just remembered that I have a hearing test booked for 9.30 today and already in a panic.
DD2 has been a royal pain in the rear not letting me know when she is in for dinner or not so food has been wasted.
DD1 and DGD are doing ok now .
DH is still working way to hard trying to compensate for not dealing with DFIL death.
Oh well best try and calm down and sort myself out . I will make this appointment today.
Hugs to all in need xx
    Bright Blessings xx
