Parking fine advice

Options
Hello, I need some help and advice regarding a fixed charge notice I received today. Last week I parked up in a car park which is managed by a private parking company, after I parked up another driver gave me her ticket as it still had 2 hours left on it. I did not know that this is an offence. I am quite annoyed by this as in the letter it states this was observed by a parking attendant for a three minute period, they have then waited for me to leave to go over to my car and take a picture of my number plate and the ticket on my dash!. My argument is why did the parking attendant not come and speak to me and give me the opportunity to buy a ticket. Do you think this is a reasonable argument to appeal the fine? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Search the board for private parking enforcement, your logic is somewhat flawed but I'm sure you can get advice there

You need to post this on the parking forum, in the motoring section.

    Did you pay?

    No

    Did you get caught

    Yes

Swear slightly to self and pay it.

(I would have done exactly the same as you, but life is too short to fight this)

Ignore post #4 - do not pay the PCN. The operative had the opportunity, nay duty, to mitigate the issue but chose instead to issue a PCN instead (as they get a kick back from each paid PCN).

As said above, get thee to the Parking Tickets board, read the NEWBIES FAQ, then create a post there if you still need help.
