Broadband Speed after Adding Filters?

I've just been to look at someone's broadband. it was installed 6 months ago and was just told it was 'very slow'. Owner had called Sky to complain, but no improvement. Inadequate for streaming iPlayer etc. The Sky checker indicated that the line should support up to 5.5MBps. I tested the line via ethernet and it was 0.5Mbps!
A quick look around revealed that no ADSL filters had ever been installed on any of the 3 active phone sockets. Doh! I plugged them in and retested, with an instant improvement to 2.5Mbps.
My question is, will the line ramp up the speed automatically over the next 10 days via DLM (as if it were a new connection), or do I need to call Sky and ask them to manually adjust it?
Obviously it's now 5 times faster, but am hoping we can get it nearer to the 5.5Mbps projection, in order to make streaming viable. Sky Fibre is not available on this cabinet yet.

The automatic line management will adjust the speed over the next few days automatically, it's only dropped because the system thinks the line can't cope with the speed. If you improve the conditions the speed will come up, though you may find it's an "up to" package and 5.5Mbps could be a pipe dream.
As a general rule if there are no ADSL filters in place the broadband connection shouldn't work at all, at least in theory but it is possible to connect the router directly to the phone socket (square to the rectangle connection) and have it work, but this would generate interference on the phone if you're using a splitter.0
