Barclays bank £2994 error

On 21/06/2017 an amount of £2994 was paid into my barclays current account. I went to the bank straight away where I was advised to keep the money in my savings for the mean time because It couldn't been seen where the money came from because there was no account information. Since heating nothing I overall spent £450 leaving £2550 in my Barclays savings account. The money was removed today by barclays because of an aparant mispayment by another barclays customer. Barclays transfered it from my savings and into the current account where they then took the full amount. However because I had spent £450 they took that £450 from an unplanned overdraft which I'm going to be charged for, although the bank told me previously that it wasn't a mispayment because there's no account details attached to the payment.
Is this right that the bank can just do this to my account without permission?? Especially after saying it can't of been a mispayment from and individual??
I have an appointment to speak to someone else tomorrow after speaking to the branch manager today because he has said he doesn't know how this could have happen so all advice appreciated thanks

You expect them to let you keep the £450 that wasn't yours that you chose to spend ? It's only been there 2 weeks
ETA My 'help' is return whatever you spent the £450 on and get a refund or alternatively treat is as an interest-incurring mistake0 -
No, I expect to pay it back as I have spent it but I am not happy with how the bank have dealt with this. I believed the money was mine because of coincidence's that occurred after speaking the bank, especially after I was told it couldn't be a mistake. I am now going to be chathe interest because of a mistake made by someone else.0

Thank you for the link to my previews thread :T
Like I said I was told it couldn't be a mispayment by the bank so I decided to dip into the money after consideration that perhaps it was from a loan that I applied for and that I would pay it back into it when I found out who it was. Again, like I said I am it bothered about paying the 450 back. I am bothered about how the bank have dealt with the situation and how I was not informed of anything happening to both my current a count and savings account. Please feel free no to comment again0 -
Sorry maybe the advice in your last reply was deleted??:)0

The person in the bank said that they could not trace where the money had come from because there was no account details attached to the transfer. However today they said that it was from a barclays account holder and a mistake had been made in branch where a transfer had been made into the wrong account.0

[STRIKE]They should have notified you that they were going to recover the money so I believe a complaint is due in that respect[/STRIKE] looks like the T&Cs cover that ....... but the advice always given is to put it somewhere safe and not spend it for up to 6 years.0
