it's easy to view old notifications on android

hold your finger on home screen until you can add a widget

scroll down to and select the settings widget, then choose notifications from the list that appears

then clicking it will show you the old ones

the code was posted just above to save you the effort though

That's a great tip. I imagine it's because I'm using a Samsung phone and not a virgin (no pun intended) Android one, but the settings widget doesn't appear as an available widget for me.
