This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Morning  :coffee:

Same old stuff from me...didn't sleep well...very late to bed and up again after only about 4 hours. Today will mainly involve being exhausted I think and I feel quite sick with it too :(

Work then bed is my plan for today, although I doubt the second part will be put into action.

Hope everyone is ok. I have read yesterday's thread but I'm sorry I just don't have the energy to comment individually :o:o

Take care all and have a good day..:A x

    Morning everyone.

Thanks for the thread karcher, sorry you're still having such a rotten time of it.

I spent my evening quietly reading and de-stressing from my tech laden day. Not even TV.

This morning I'm taking DM to the chiropodist after which I'll be heading home. My tardy colleague eventually emailed me yesterday to say he'd post the disc to me on Thursday. I countered with the suggestion that I'd collect it from Oban instead. Now I'm halfway to breathing easily about it.

Happily, today could be the day I have nothing to report! Food is yoghurt and berries whilst later I'll have a couple of chicken thighs with veg.

    Happy Wednesday.

karcher - thanks for starting us off x When I get really tired I start to feel a bit sick too, if it's possible have you tried to take a "power nap" at some time during the day - I realise if you're at work this might not be possible!

Hugs to those that want/need one x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

DH up and gone to work stupid stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit.

Beautiful bright sunshine and clear sky - already getting warm. Yesterday was very dull, cloudy and overcast all day but did stay dry.

Dinner last night was heart attack on a plate - egg, bacon, sausage, black pudding, hash browns/new potatoes, mushrooms and beans. Tonight should be chicken, bacon and mushroom pie, pots, veg and gravy, I remembered to get the chicken out to defrost but left it in the fridge and so it's still frozen so I've got it out now and I'm hoping as I'm only working this morning due to the extra hours being finished, then it should be defrosted when I get home at lunchtime.

I'll be making a start on some jobs when I get home, if it's not too hot.

    Keep safe and well x

    Good morning everyone :hello:

Thank you karcher for starting the thread, hope you manage to get some sleep tonight so you can feel a bit better x

It's a bright and sunny morning here today. Steve has gone to work but he still feels ill. I am worried about him but he won't go and see a doctor about it. Phoebe and Becky are not going to school today either as they both had quite stressful days yesterday. Poor Phoebe came home and cried because she had spent 5 hours on a field trip where she felt unable to sit down at any point as there was sand and dirt around. She also got quite sunburnt even though it was a very cloudy overcast day. We had a long conversation about her struggles with the world and I am worried she is also on the spectrum. I hope her counsellor will help her when her cbt therapy starts in a few weeks time.

I felt very restless yesterday but also frustrated as there was nowhere to go and no way of getting there anyway. I wish I could drive but I am absolutely terrified of getting behind the wheel of a car. I have had loads of lessons in the past with several different instructors but they have all said in their own way that I am one of lifes passengers :rotfl:. How I envy people who can just get in a car and drive, it's like magic to me.

I've taken out some mince for dinner tonight. I will turn it into a bolognese sauce I expect even though we had pasta last night. I am off to face the scales at weight watchers this morning. It will not be good news as I have been troughing for England as I have felt so stressed over the past couple of weeks. Anyway I am looking to have a fresh start...again... :D.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    Morning everyone,

Thank you for starting us off Karcher

I finally remembered to take my trolley out when I went up the town yesterday so was able to drop off the things that were in it for the CS.

Thanks to the advice to get a radiator roller to use to paint my shed door, I managed to get a coat of paint on it yesterday and this time it is not too thick and run free, so I’m really pleased. I think it will need at least one more coat though, but intend to leave it a good few days at least if not a week until I do the next coat. I want to make sure it is properly dry.

I have got a fairly early hospital appointment this morning, so need to go and have some breakfast and get ready.

I hope that you all have a good day whatever you are doing.

I've been at work since 6:30 as CHS is on the early shift, he's on holiday then for the rest of the week so I can have a lie in until 6am.
    Have a good day everyone.

Washing in doing it's thing, DW and bins emptied - recycling bin quite full as I have had lots of boxes the last couple of weeks, it gets emptied tomorrow.

I went for brunch yesterday in Glasgow's West End (wondered if I would run into you Gers), we both had a cooked breakfast which was possibly the best I've ever had, didn't eat anything else all day!

Popped in to see DD, she starts her new job tomorrow so had been for new work clothes. I bought her a new mug for starting, they seem to drink a lot of tea!

Going to risk putting the washing out but I'm in and out a lot today so it will probably get a final rinse.

Hope you get that sleep you need karcher. Take care everyone. XX

    Morning all,

Hubby kept me awake half the night, first he was hot, then cold, his ankle hurt then he thought he'd push his luck. but at least I don't have to go out to work. Funny though cause he doesnt seem to be suffering with restless legs. The soap is working still.

Decided to keep the hounds on dried food. Their tummies seem more settled.

Think Youngest has learned from his disciplinary yesterday.

Prodigal. Well he's pushing his luck but I'm on it.

A reminder to daughter to pack Livewires overnight and more bag for when she goes into hospital. I've reminded her once but she's got baby brain at the moment. The only thing she self confessed is good at at the moment is spending money... Some things never change.

Must get round to filling in that health screening form.

    Onwards and forwards

    Have a great day all

  • Morning everyone, another nice sunny day here, just a little broken cloud and it's going to get hot here, perhaps up to 29 degrees so I'm getting all the 'chores' done early before it does!

Treat today as we've booked a table at my favourite Vegan restaurant for lunch, it's an old water mill and you sit on a terrace over the river so it will be cool and comfortable, it's also an antiques and crafts centre so I'll have a nice browse too!

Happy this morning as the scales put me to BMI 23.5 today, an overall weight loss of 17 and a half kilos. He Who knows this morning achieved BMI 22.5 which is a perfect weight for him and is where I am also aiming so a little way still for me to go but I'll get there soon, got to be good!

KARCHER I don't know if it might help you to relax and ultimately sleep but CHAMOMILE TEA is a wonderfully calming thing to sip in the evening, I actually like the taste but if you've not had it before it might be something you'd get accustomed to? it certainly helps you relax enough to drift off and makes for calm thoughts and dreams and is something that traditionally has always been used for soothing fractions and nervous children. Might be worth a try?

Have yourselves a good day, xxx.
