Did you agree to pay in monthly installments? If so it may be the finance costs you are paying off plus termination fees

This type of thread is why many websites have a "no name and shame" policy. Somebody calling them a scam because they can't be bothered to understand what they're buying.

Whilst the OP does not like the Flux early termination charges I'm sure they were clearly shown in the paperwork received with the quote.

When I needed to insure my deceased brother's car for a couple of months before selling it they were very clear. Mind you, I read the documents sent to me before accepting the quote. I didn't like having to pay, but them's the rules. And, from what I can recall Flux's charges were no worse than other insurers prepared to quote.

In fact, Flux worked out the final calculation to make the charge slightly lower than I expected.

In my experience Adria Flux are actually very good if you have a somewhat unusual car or need a specifically tailored policy. You need to read the terms and conditions of any financial transaction carefully before you commit.
