Question regarding completion

Hello,

So my completion date for a shared ownership is Friday and I'm currently waiting for an invoice for what I owe for deposit. Legal fees etc. I emailed my solicitor because they mentioned in a "completion summary generalised form" that I need to sign the counter part lease and return it before completion. I am Awaiting a call back now but was hoping for some independent information regarding this as I have already signed a lease and they have received it. Is this the same thing? Like I said this form wasn't addressed directly to me, just a premade leaflet. Also they mentioned chasing up a engrossment lease? I was thinking maybe they meant "engrossment fee" otherewise I can't find anything on what this is.

    The counterpart lease is the one that you sign and the lessor/landlord/freeholder keeps. An engrossment is a final version produced on thicker paper with all the parties names and addresses on. So the counterpart you have been sent is an engrossment.

    You may have signed a contract already which had a copy of the proposed lease attached to it - so you were agreeing to enter into a lease in the format set out in the copy attached to the contract. The counterpart is the actual lease that the landlord/lessor/freeholder will keep. He will sign a similar copy that you or your mortgage lender will keep.
