Returning a Ted Baker bag

As I said in the first post 'I genuinely have no idea how or what or why that bag with that tag is there.'
There's no point in telling us what you said when you have deleted what you wrote, which is very bad manners. Luckily technology has come to our assistance:I'm confused and stuck and needing advice and assistance please.
The story:
I purchased a Ted Baker online from Selfridges.com, I picked up the order from the Trafford Centre store. I didn't open the box until the day I gave it as a present to my wife. She opened the box in front of me, looked at the bag and unfortunately it was not her taste, hence packed it back up and filled the returns form and sent it back.
I get an email few days later from Selfridges saying '....Whilst processing your return we found that an item purchased from House of Fraser has been returned....'
I'm confused, as I've never shopped at HoF and plus never ever returned anything other than what Selfridges initially gave me.
They sent me a picture of the tag which indeed says House of Fraser, but I genuinely have no idea how or what or why that bag with that tag is there.
They won't refund or swap.
What do I do?0
