This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Morning everyone,

Thank you for starting us off karcher

Jo, what lovely names your children have. I hope it went well for Becky with her therapist.
Camelot I have holiday envy. I wish I was brave enough to take myself off like that. I am a bit of a wimp over some things.
Redruby I hope that your neighbours have apologised for their appalling behaviour.
Lainey I’m the same as you now with regard to M&S, I only buy underwear and food when reduced in there now.
Nelski I’m glad that you managed to have a relaxing weekend. It’s good the way that you are getting your mum to use other shops, as you say baby steps. You are being so good to her and patient with her.
Nannywindow Sorry to hear that you haven’t been very well, I hope that you are feeling a bit better today and that your DGS is feeling better today as well.
Karcher sorry that things are so difficult for you at the moment. I hope that the problems sort themselves out quickly for you.

I didn’t get much done yesterday, I couldn’t seem to settle to anything, I had a real CBA day. I started to rub down the last of the outhouse door and gave up on that, then went out and realised when I got to the charity shop that I didn’t have my trolley with me, which had everything in it I was taking to the CS. :) How I managed that one I will never know.

I have an appointment in town this morning and will try to remember to take the trolley today.

Other than that I don’t plan anything much today.

    :hello:

Been up a while (too blooming long). I had a very restless, non-sleep night again. :(

I don't think my brain has put itself into gear yet though as I can't think of absolutely anything to say...sorry :o

If I think of anything I'll report back later ;)

Have a good day one and all and take care :) x

    Good morning everyone :hello:

I am assuming it's a nice morning, the blinds are shut and I can't be bothered to open them yet :). I'm just up with Steve as he has a bad tummy so won't be going to work today. He got sent home early yesterday as well with it so hopefully he will feel better soon.

Phoebe has a school trip as part of her Biology A level today so she will be up and ready soon. Ah, I just heard her alarm go off :D. Becky will hopefully be going to school and Lilly isn't working today but she may be up in a little while to go for a run.

I ended up getting a takeaway yesterday as I didn't have the energy to cook but I am definitely making the pasta dishes today. I also need to wash the dog's blanket as it is contributing to the pong in the living room. I will open up all the windows in a little while as well to change the air.

My lovely cmht lady is coming to take me out this morning so I just have to decide where we are going. I think I will try Morrisons today as I find it quite challenging but it shouldn't be too busy if we go fairly early. I don't need much shopping ... famous last words... but will get a few bits to keep me going until the weekend.

I had a bad night with bad thoughts not letting me sleep but I can talk to my lovely cmht lady about it all. I feel a bit alone at the moment but I am sure things will work out one way or another. I have ordered a few books from Amazon to help me with Becky and Phoebe. They are being delivered today so at least I can start reading up about how best to help them.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    Morning everyone

karcher - thanks for starting us off x

Hugs to those that want/need one x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

Now light, but very cloudy and overcast, but it was the same yesterday and then became a lovely sunny warm day, hoping today will be the same. Got a line of washing dry yesterday and have another load ready to go out today.

DH up and gone to work stupid stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit.

Dinner last night was fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg, tonight we'll be having egg, bacon, sausage, black pudding, hash brown, mushrooms and beans, have several bits to use up.

Yesterday work was a very manic Monday, it was relentless until early afternoon, we haven't had a Monday like that for a good while, but eventually we got there. Have something on my mind that I found out yesterday and I'm going to have to tackle it today as it's eating away at me, it's horrible when you found out that things are not the way you thought they were. So have got up this morning, feeling rather low and will do until this is tackled, not sure that's going to solve anything, but I don't feel I can keep quiet either - feel a bit like I'm damned if I do or damned if I don't.

    Keep safe and well x

Good morning and thank you for starting us off karcher.
I have a chiropody appointment later, quite a trek to get there but I prefer to stick with the same person.
Nanny windows, I hope you feel better soon and karcher you seem to be going through the mill at present so hopefully things will improve soon.
It looks a bit dull here, no breeze to blow the clouds about and it has felt heavy and thundersome since yesterday afternoon but no actual storm. I'm not mad about getting soaked when I go out but a storm would freshen things up. The birds are chirping away but not doing their usual mass avian shouting.
OH will cook tonight so I am not even thinking about cooking or what's in the freezer, I like cooking but not thinking about what to have.
Jo, hope Becky's appointment went well. Like others, I thought what lovely names you have given your girls.
I need more tea, will catch up later.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

    Morning All

Back to rain this morning, yesterday wasn't too bad, all the washing was dried outside.

DD and BF came for dinner last night, I made a Thai curry that was delicious followed by fresh fruit. Actually can't remember the last time I cooked a meal!

Your girls have lovely names dumpling, enjoy your trip out.
Hope you feel better soon Nannywindow and things improve for you karcher.

I got lots done yesterday, sorted out Euros, got a new battery for a watch that hasn't worked for about a year and a new strap for the one I wear most of the time, and paid in £89 from a tin of change I was collecting. Also picked some peas from the allotment, seems like I will miss most of them from being away but have told the people who run it to help themselves.

Meeting a friend for brunch later, may get my eyebrows done whilst I'm out.

Have a good day, hope you see some sunshine. Take care. XX

Thanks for the thread karcherr, hugs to those in need.
We are now freezerless, it was only tiny about 1 cu ft but to keep things frozen meant the fridge iced up, if we turn
the fridge down everything defrosts. Captain Hot Stuff is going to have to live without frozen chips, yes I can make my own but he prefers frozen ones!
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Good morning everyone from a rainy Glasgow.

I've been sitting in front of DM's laptop since early wrestling with a new router. Yesterday it caused me problems, overnight I figured out the problem and this morning it worked. :j Now I just need to figure out the wireless printer stuff, can't find the correct place to change the password for it. I'll leave it for a while for my mind to cogitate on.

Plans for today? DM chores! Paying her gas and electric bills online, phoning her chiropodist, sorting the blessed printer etc etc.

I brought yoghurt and berries with me and something for tonight. I've spied a home made cheesecake in the fridge.

Yesterday I left home so unexpectedly that I forgot my book and new charger cable, at least I had the important stuff like knickers and contact lenses.

Happy Tuesday and good health to all.
