Silver Oldie - congratulations, how lovely to stretch your celebration over two days, a quiet day together at home today and then a nice meal out tomorrow - both sans Mother!

    Happy anniversary Silver-oldie.

I'm a bit broken today, we went for a longish (for me) walk in Coverdale, it was lovely, if a tad windy but I'm feeling the affect today.

Back home today but calling in at Castleford to pick up a piano stool for DD that she bought on ebay.

DH and I have made a pact to resume the blood sugar diet that we did so well on last year so I need to meal plan for the next week or so and make some soups. We've got a meal out with friends the week after next though - they're coming down because they got tickets in the Wimbledon ballot for men's semi-final day, lucky things.

    Morning everyone.

I woke early but stayed a-bed for ages reading. Outside it's dark, grey, wet, windy and miserable. :D Not really the weather for going out much.

It was the final episode of this series of Dr Who last night...I watched it with the sound turned down as I find the it's the music which makes it more 'scary' for me. I know, I'm an over the hill woman who should have better resources than to still find DW a bit scary, but that's not the reality of it.

The fridge is full, there's no appetite for washing, there's appetite for going out but not much opportunity. I'll probably get myself to the local museum which is having an exhibition of its redevelopment plans (exciting stuff) and treat myself to a coffee and bun when there. I have to hand in a cheque to a neighbour for services provided (his use of trade account at Jew*son) and then there's more books to read.

So, unless a dashing knight driving a red super-powered charger zooms to door and stops to whisk me away to adventure, I'll be found under my woolly throw reading a crime thriller. :rotfl:

Happy anniversary to silver-oldie and DH and a happy Sunday to everyone.
  • Happy Anniversary SILVER-OLDIE. Good idea to avoid eating out today, amongst families and noisy children! Much better to save your treat for tomorrow when it will be much more civilised! Have a lovely two days.

I have yet to venture out weeding - maybe this afternoon! Or maybe not! The wind is still blowing manically and I don't like wind! Although we still have blue sky and sunshine the wind is a chilly one! We seem to get battered by an awful lot of wind these days, I wonder why?

We have decided we may trip over to the 'van tomorrow after breakfast, just for a couple of nights, as I want to be back for Wednesday evening for my monthly old biddies' wine and carvery night.

Lunch is all prepped and I am now watching the 2016 Wimbledon review, just to get me in the mood for the start of this year's championship!

Enjoy the rest of the day folks xx

Aaargh! Did this task, on the way back I hit a new pothole on his single track road and now got a punture! Tyre pressure went from 32 to 20. No more going out for me today...I've texted the farmer next door who is also a mechanic to ask if he'll change it for my spacesaver tyre. He's not been well and has a heart recording sim card in his chest so he'll probably not want to do it. Close your ears now to avoid hearing me swear 'blankety blank'

    Good morning everyone,

Joining in for the first time as I'm looking to bring more OS into my life. Right now due to a number of reasons (mostly that we are renovating and moving into our new house) we are not OS at all- we eat far too many takeaways and laundry is so much easier when I can just chuck it in the dryer. Not sure that second one will ever change but I'll be happily reading along for ideas from you all.

So far I've given the new kitchen a good clean of all the plaster and brick dust although no doubt it will be back tomorrow. May also vacuum the stairs but all that will definitely be back tomorrow. Then we're lugging a load of plasterboard up two flights of stairs, making a start on the stud wall and painting the newly plastered dining room.

Just discovered some wall hangers that pull out so you can hang washing on them to dry so will look at those instead of tumble drying everything- yes my first OS act is to spend some money on something. :money:

    Happy anniversary silver-oldie.

  • Welcome to our happy little band of OS's ENCHILADA! Look forward to getting to know more about you. And spending money on something that will ultimately save you money doesn't count! x

    Afternoon all.

I'm having a CBA doing very very little day. It feels a waste of a day off but there you go.

My washing machine was on for 3 hours refusing to spin  I dread to think how much that has cost me :(

I really should do something but I just can't muster up the energy or enthusiasm...

Hope you are all having a good day :) x
