Hi
I have got a wobly toilet seat and was wonderingbidbitbcan be fixed rather than replace. It is a soft close one with long screws which are fixed with plastic but on underside. The seat is leaning towards one side. I have tried to tighten the nuts 9n both sides by hand but no luck. Do I need a special tool to tighten these and if so where do I get it.?
Any other suggestions to fix it?
Finally if I have to get a new one, are all of them same or are there better ones out there.
Many thanks

I think that you should buy a new toilet seat.
1. Take measurements. Bear in mind that there are two types of seats with different measurements as a result. There's a round one and an oblong one. Measure the old seat and the bolt mounting centers.
2. Pick a toilet seat that you like. The seats come in a wide range of materials. For example, vinyl, plastic and wood. If you want a durable and long-lasting seat you should buy a plastic or polypropylene one.
3. Install the new seat. First remove the old seat. Find the bolt mounting holes on the back and unscrew the bolts. Once done, attach the new seat and secure it in place with the bolts.

I had this problem with my toilet seat and solved it with a SteadySeat kit that I bought off of eBay:

I wish I had found this years ago! I replaced my toilet seat 4 times and each one became wobbly and moved to the right side. Since fitting this kit I've not had a problem with the loo seatSmiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
..one size fits all... and nobody minds if you give it back.☆.。.:*・° Housework is so much easier without the clutter ☆.。.:*・°SPC No. 5180 -
I swapped the plastic nuts for metal wing nuts and sprung washers which allowed them to be tightened more tightly0

Hi,
this might do the job,
I would cut the rods to required length, then when tightened, smear with vaseline, stops them getting rusted up with steam/condensation so easier to remove in the future.
Search ebay about £3/4.0 -
It's quite often not the seat-to-loo fixings that cause the problems, but the hidden seat-to-lid screws that can only be tightened by removal first.
Take it off. Retighten all the hidden fixings. Refix. If that works, great. If not, only then splash out (eurrghh).0
