Monzo

Im going away on Holiday next year but I'm looking just now at different ways to get currency. I usually use The Halifax Clarity Card and a mixture of cash. However I'm reading good reviews about the Monzo card as its a prepaid card but you get the master card rates. I'm just wondering if anyone has used and if it is recommended?
Thanks

Hi,
I got one for my last trip to the US and it worked great, I used it like a normal credit card and it was always accepted wherever I went. The only down side is possibly the cash withdrawl limit of £1,000 a month.
You have to download the app which instantly updates whenever you use it so you can keep a track of your spending at all times.
Hope that helps.0 -
I've also noticed that it says that you need to put 100 into it. Do you need to deposit the 100 pounds straight away or just before you start to use it. i'm going to Berlin in 6 weeks so was going to get it the now but not got 100 to put in it until next week?0

The Monzo card will be delivered a day or two after your initial £100 deposit. Sign up via the MSE link to avoid the queue:

It works fine, I've been using it since they began nearly a year ago(?), but never rely on only one card when traveling.Evolution, not revolution0
