Sadly M&S had started their sale & refused to refund except at sale prices.
If you had the original receipt, then they should have refunded the actual price you paid. If you didn't, then they only have to refund the sale price.
This is my understanding anyway, no doubt someone will correct me if need be!0 -
Absolutely not. You bought it at its given price so you should be happy with your purchase as you considered it good enough value for money.
If you have already worn it - yuk, do you expect someone else to wear it after you just to save you a bit of money? If you haven't worn it you should have thought a bit more before buying because you obviously didn't really want or need it. Maybe you should consider your purchases more.
As Martin always reminds us .... do I need it? will I use it????0 -

Exactly!!! I'd even check if the receipt has a size on it - if not buy the XS size in the sale & return them with the receipt from my slightly larger more expensive size!Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!0 -
Is this a genuine enquiry, I wonder? How much of a saving is at stake?
You don't say what you paid for the shorts, or what they are made of - gold leaf, judging by your determination to profit at the shop's expense.
Merely because the same item now appears in a sale is no good or valid reason to take the ones you bought back. The retailer is perfectly entitled to change the price of goods on display. Keep what you bought and put it down to experience.:cool:0 -
Yes.
We once bought a bed in Ikea for our daughter.
We then saw it half price in the sale.
We went to customer services and asked them if we could get a refund of the price difference or did we need to buy the bed again and bring it to them.
They happily gave us the refund without actually having the item.

Yes, why on earth not?0

Yep, I do this and I keep receipts for a couple of weeks afterwards just in case my item gets reduced. I remember buying MIL a bag one Xmas and it was £30 off on Boxing Day, so I got a refund and then repurchased it.
The only time I wouldn't, is if it was a faff to get to the shop e.g. if the time/travel costs would wipe out the saving.0 -

Neither of you are correct - If it's been bought in store, there is no right of refund or exchange, unless the item is faulty.
The retailer may offer a non-statutory refund but it will differ from retailer to retailer and subject to their terms. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I feel like I have been punched in the stomach and don't know if you can help.
I was looking at my engagement ring bought 24 days ago at a BIG high street jewellery store and it is on sale. Not just a little bit on sale. BIG 50% on sale. £1250 difference on sale.
Can I do anything to sort it? £1250 would be useful for the wedding!0
