Money Moral Dilemma: Should I take back my purchase now the sales are on?

I would do no question if there is a pair still there in your size that you can pick up. Asking to return and re-buy the exact same pair at Customer Services is a bit cheeky and I think some stores do prevent this.
Also agree with comments above re: saleable condition and time/expense of doing so. Obviously if this was say Sainsbury's and you'll be going there for some food anyway then it's a no brainer.0 -
Even if you've worn them, buy another pair, then return this pair with the receipt for the pair you originally bought.0

I don't think you should take them back. As you say, you were happy to pay the original price anyway. Can't see the dilemma really!0

If you have the receipt and are within the time frame, they have to refund the amount you paid (not the sale price).
My mum does this a lot (eg she'll buy something in Sainsburys and then a week later, there'll be 25% of clothing). She just buys everything again, if the size is available and then gets a refund on the original receipt for the items she has been able to rebuy. She's always out and about, so it doesn't cost her to do this. Helps me out massively as she does my shopping for me!0 -
This is such a ridiculous question. I'm sure that huge corporation is going to make a huge loss on the £5 you stand to make by returning an item that probably cost them 20p to manufacture.0

You should simply take the receipt into the store and demand the cash difference between sale price and price paid. You can do this in supermarkets when the price of an item goes down, also at the petrol station, Costa, McDonalds etc.
In every case you should be told to go and boil your head.:wall:0 -
Most stores are wise to this now. They will usually allow the return but then will hold the return stock behind the desk for a while so you can't rebuy it right away. So you're then dependent on them having your size in stock.0

I did this 10yrs ago in M&S after buying full-price Tshirts in every available colour for my husband. The colours he didn't like went back a week later.
Sadly M&S had started their sale & refused to refund except at sale prices.0 -

We've all had this "dilemma" haven't we? You buy something and a few days later it's in the sale. So what, that's life. I wouldn't get in a state about it. I like to moneysave but I'm not obsessive about it.0
