Given you've allowed the dog to urinate all over the carpet and haven't bothered cleaning it up this isn't a reasonable request. The landlord will probably want to use the deposit to clean/replace the carpet.DEBT FREE!

But surely they can just move into their new place? Sounds like they are already paying for it. I feel sorry for the landlord. Sounds like this tenant is planning to sit tight for a month, not pay the rent and leave them with urine-stained carpets that will need replacing. LL will be glad to see the back of them I bet.0 -
As someone who has worked hard to have some rental properties no. It is not honest or fair. Why should you be able to damage the property and walk away. Will the balance of the deposit be enough to replace carpets and get the property ready for another tenant? It would have to be a small room or very cheap carpet.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0
