Vodafone/Talkmobile phone query.
To cut a long story short I bought a used Huawei Y6 Pro a few months back that's locked to Talkmobile. I put my Vodafone Sim into it (4g enabled and used on other phones) and all works well except there's no 4G. This phone has been sold through other suppliers which do provide 4G on the same device. Given that Talkmobile don't/didn't "do" 4G have they in some way blocked it on their phones through the lock? If I get the phone unlocked and put my Vodafone Sim back in will I then have 4G enabled on this phone? All correct Vodafone setting are on the phone incidentally and when I look at "Sim settings" there's only 2 and 3 G shown.

Does the phone support 4G 800 MHz? That is Vodafone main 4G frequency - you might pick up some 4G 1800/2100/2600 MHz in built-up areas.
The network lock itself won't stop you using 4G.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
