I have a suggestion. Don't be so ridiculously petty.I have a suggestion.
Don't jump to stupid conclusions.
So why don't you explain what you're trying to achieve?
As your only requirement is for it to be legal to park on the road then the only logical reason is to secure a parking space (e.g. to stop someone else parking in front of your property).0 -
I'm not going to go into details, but it is to prevent illegal parking, not to try and 'reserve' a space. If everyone parked legally on my road I would be happy.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

AdrianC - Because you can't park illegally where someone is parked legally ? Two objects being unable to occupy the same space at the same time, laws of physics that ye cannae change etc ?
Eg you can't park on the pavement where someone is properly parked on the road - or (not illegal - but a PITA that my place suffers from - meaning sometimes I can only get out of the drive by turning right and three point turning down the pub carpark) stopping people partially obstructing your drive by parking something "considerately".
It should both be be legit and work, but I'd love to know the background as to why Stator wants to go down this route - would be nice to know whether they were arguing from the moral high-ground too, or being a ***.0 -
But if you can park legally there, how can it be preventing someone from parking illegally?
The only valid attempt at that I've seen is a farmer leaving a car on a private track to prevent people using it as a through road.
Are you just trying to park a bit further out to preserve some space? Spoken to the council about getting some double yellow lines?0 -

Erm... You're the one asking us for advice. We can only go on what infomation you drip feed to us. Tell us what problem you actually want to solve and we'll see what we can do.
I really doubt buying an eyesore of a banger is the long term solution you want.0 -
I suspect its in relation to safety on his new build0

A trailer sounds the best option; no insurance needed but make sure you clamp one wheel; see:
