Upgrading Sky from Original to Variety?

I currently have a good deal from Sky with the Original bundle plus Sky Sports. I would have preferred to have the Variety bundle with Sky Sports as that provides the Documentaries like the History Channel that Original does not cover.
From experience I know that when you upgrade you generally lose whatever discount you were getting and start paying full price.
Just wondering if Sky would allow someone to change from Original to Variety and still retain their discount? Perhaps paying a little more for the extra programs (but not a lot more).

Pretty sure that you don't lose the discount, you can try changing it online and it will tell you your new price before confirming it. It may be worth a call or live chat though and see if they'll extend your deal with the Sky loyalty promotion they now have.0

If you don't have long to reach the end of your minimum term, it may be worth cancelling with a month left, then using an upgrade as an incentive for them to give you a better deal.0

Pretty sure that you WILL lose the discount...I had a "cheap" offer to add Movies to my package about 2 months after my latest discounted deal started....when I queried whether it would be further discounted as I was on 60% off,the CSA had to admit that all my discount would go if I added this Movies Offer0
