Notice of marraige

so I understand before having a civil ceremony you have to pay and have an appointment with the registrar to register the notice of marraige which must be given at least 28 days before marraige.

So my question is:

1- do both people have to be present at this notice meeting?
2- can I book the ceremony now at the registry office for in 28 days time a few days thereafter depending on how the 28days fall?
So in theory the 28 days and the ceremony hit the same week

You need to find out from your local registry office what their rules are, if this isn't displayed on their website then give them a call or send them an email.

Well, I'd say this one is:

You each need to pay a £35 fee when you attend the register office to give notice. It can be more if you or your partner are from outside EEA or Switzerland.

I would think both people would need to sign some documentation when they attend.

Also as ID is required then it would be difficult to verify photo ID without the person being present.

She's going to phone Monday, was hoping somebody would know prior to phoning though.

Anybody know if it's allowed to for example to register the notice in Wiltshire registry office but marry in say Lincolnshire registry office or whether you can only marry in the district registered?

Problem lies with the fact my OH is away Monday-Friday as he lives down south as part of his job during the week

You each have to give notice in the district where you live.

We had to both be present and we were interviewed individually in private as well as together.

We had to take documentation with us, birth certificates, decree nisi
if divorced and proof of address.

At this appointment we were given a choice of dates and times.

The list of documents required (as we as lots of other information) is detailed in the link I gave in an earlier post.

Yes you both have to go and yes you can book at the same time as declaring the notice (for after the allotted time)
