I started a thread about this company in August but after reading some of the above posts I am beginning to worry. I decided to sign up with this company on a Canary 40 Orange contract £40pm, everything seems to be ok but I've not yet claimed any cashback which I'm due to do in a few weeks.

I've got a dreadful feeling it will be like pulling teeth to get any cashback although everthing seems to be ok with you andybeall. I only hope I have the same experience.

I printed a copy of their T & C from the website although in fairness they did send me a bit of a manky copy. The cashback claim procedures can seem quite complicated.

    Thanks

they have send a load of ts & cs, i'll post in 3 months to say whether they stick to them or not :D
  • This company doesn't seem to have a good track record regarding advertising standards, and seems to be in breach of them again...

I've just received one of these texts, but I don't give out my number to companies - I'm guessing they got my number from the chain I bought the 'phone from (The Link if I recall correctly), so I probably won't be using them again.

Anyway, sounds to me like it's worth reporting the company (Yes Mobiles / Express Mobiles) to the ASA again - I'm assuming there's some sort of further action they can take...
  • I was offered the same deal from ExpressMobiles back in July. I too, thought it was too good to be true and went about seeking 'bad press' about them. Having found none I decided to give them a go.

Now nearly four months later, surprise, surprise, I am still waiting for my first claim to be paid to me (after the first three month period). My last two emails have been ignored after they appear to be making excuses for not paying out.

Has anyone gone with them recently (3/4 months ago) and found them not to be shelling out?

  • creagb,
just sent an email asking for the cashback but im not holding out any hope after your last post.. £40 a month isn't that bad for a contract either way. will post again if i hear anything.
  • I did a similar thing with dial a phone a couple of years ago, it was great, thousands of free mins & texts every month & all my money back by the end of the year, you just need to be able to afford to have that much money go out every month. HOWEVER, this year we went with a company I had never heard of on a cashback scheme, but before I could even claim the first 3 months they had gone bust! Vodaphone were great they gave us the same tarrif for £5 instead of £30odd, but orange didnt care & just reminded me that I would be in breach of contract if I stopped paying even though my contract was not with orange, but with a 3rd party who no longer existed.

Martin has written an artical on this, and the bottom line was basically get the best tarriff, then see if you can get it free, that way you are loosing nothing if they do go under

In May 2007, responded to text that breached advertised guidelines . Its hard work getting the chequebacks. Emailing is useless, you get no replies. After one phone call got cheque for first claim three months late. Second claim, again over three months late and 6 phone calls later all I have is a string of excuses - post strike, back log, early finish for christmas, wrong amount written on cheque and false promises - cheques been raised will be sent next Tuesday, tomorrow etc. They say they pay within 28 days of receiving claim. They have another week to pay my third claim within this time. What a drag....
Aren't yes-mobiles part of e2save? My invoice is on e2save stationery.
