Tesco SC356 Slow Cooker
Catalogue number: 100-2168
* £19.97
For a larger slow cooker try ALDI 6.5L http://uk.aldi.com/sunday_special_buys/productnl_418.html
£19.99 twice the price but nearly twice the capacity0 -
Hi
Can anyone help me?
I got one of these but instructions are a bit unclear. It says that low is for heating up and not cooking but most of the recipes I have found say to cook on a low heat for 6 -8 hours???
Also it says cooking time is 6 to 8 hours on high, what happens after 8 hours does it go automatically go to warm?
Also I am at work for about 10 hours will it be ok to leave it on for that long? and if so on what heat level if I am cooking a stew for example?
Many Thanks

Hi Shaun,
I just got mine and used it once. I was also confused by the instructions which were a bit sparse. I filled it almost to the top with my raw meat & veg, stock cubes etc and topped it with boiling water. Left it from 10am til 5pm on High. When I came in it was simmering nicely. I seasoned it and thickened with SmartPrice instant mash flakes. It was perfect.
I would make sure that it is not too full though as it might boil over.
I'm looking to try out another recipe now. There's a thread with lots of slow cooker recipes on here somewhere.0 -

Thinking of getting a slow cooker myself now.Booo!!!0 -
I'll also vouch for the gammon cooked in coke. It sounds weird but it's now become a family favourite. The gammon takes on a lovely sort of barbecue flavour0
