Oh Sue, bless his heart :) He is a very brave young man.

Is Josh getting on all right?

Oh Pyxis, you have been poorly! What a rotten shame that was all you came home with!

Maggie Are you happy with your car? We need to start looking soon. No idea whether Brexit will mean delays!

Josh has been struggling a bit with his mental health a bit more just recently, no drum kit at uni and someone broke his guitar when they borrowed it and then didn't buy him a new one/get his repaired. Josh's wellbeing has always been controlled by his ability to play so being limited on that meant he went on a downward trend and his very Aspergic traits came back.

Mum and dad came to the rescue and with a small contribution from me, we managed to cobble enough together to add to what Josh had managed to save and he got a new one a week ago.

Barely heard from him since apart from to tell me he had uploaded a new song. A not moaning, not constantly sending messages Josh (he doesn't call) is a good sign! :rotfl:
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Hi @ivyleaf, to be honest I haven't been out in it that much since I got it! Maybe 4/5 trips to Abersoch (caravan) and back, plus a few doctor, dentist and blood test trips which are more local.

VW Touran for anyone who's forgotten.

OH has used it when we're away to go home on day trips to pick up post etc - we try to do that about every 2 weeks so I get my bank statements (just in case - I don't do online banking, so need to check each month on my printed statements) and to make sure I don't have med stuff or DWP stuff arriving.

OH loves the car - he's the driver. I've not driven for about 13/14 years now (long story). As passenger I find it fairly comfortable - as comfortable as any other car we've had. (Renault Grand Scenic and Hyundai ix35 over the last 15 years or so - could never get in the Skoda OH had!)

My main need was the heated seats... Foolishly I decided to "treat" us to the massage seat option. It's OK, but for the price I wouldn't bother with it again. But the heated seats I definitely would - even when it's warm in summer I'm often glad of the extra heat directed straight to my lower back to help ease it.

I think its fuel economy (we have petrol version) is OK, but I'd have to check with OH about that and he's out for a walk at the mo. Let me know if you want his opinion later.

Boot is big enough to take my wheelchair without having to take the wheels off etc :j, and also take all our luggage for caravan trips . And I'm notorious for taking everything, including the kitchen sink, so that's a definite plus point! ;) :rotfl:

I'm glad we're doing low mileage, as hopefully I'll be able to extend the lease with Motability. The upfront payment was quite high (can't remember what or I'd tell you), so if I can put off doing that again for another 2 years when my original lease finishes I'll be pleased.

Just let me know if you have any particular questions dear @ivyleaf, and I'll do my best to answer, or ask OH if I don't know. :grouphug:

Ukmaggie - I agree regarding heated seats, I've got them for the first time in my car and my word do they help with the joints/back. Before that it wasn't unknown for me to tuck a heated wheat bag down the back of my jeans, goodness knows what that looked like to the neighbours!

My current car has leather heated seats, I hate them. The leather is too cold when you first get into the car and the heat just makes them uncomfortable.

With Renault you had to have the leather seats to have the heated seats. The Touran has microfibre upholstery. My only complaint about that is that it kind of sticks to your clothes, making it difficult to slide into your seat! :o :rotfl:

    Hmm, I've just gone to Amazon's website to look for something and my eye caught (as I'm sure it was intended to) a banner advert showing James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond looking up at a banner for their new TV show with, in big letters the tag;

    #amazonshitcarshow.

I'm not convinced that they intended me to read that the way I did :rotfl:

Your way is precisely how I read it too; it's natural to end one word and start the next when you reach the end of what you see as a recognisable word.

Amazon is a recognisable word; stop reading, new word
Sh.t is a recognisable word; stop reading, new word
Car is a recognisable word; stop reading, new word
Show is a recognisable word; stop reading, new word

I think we are correct.... it is a Sh.t Car Show.

Maybe they did that deliberately "to go viral".

With Clarkson involved, undoubtedly so ;)

I remember quite a few years ago, either Have I Got News For You or Mock The Week did a bit on "unfortunately chosen" domain names where what people read might not actually be what was intended.
The only one I can remember is therapist.com - which is actually a genuine website of (by the look of it) therapy links and articles and not naughty people.

Wide Awake Club. 2nd time tonight I've woken up. Been for a brief shuffle round the garden, no chance of settling again for some time.... currently brushing my teeth and "getting up" and so "giving up" so to speak; will just watch some catch-up telly and browse the Internet. :)
