Well that's anything over 26, gives you plenty of leeway0 -
New site car park's full-o-cars! Looks like there's about 5 inhabited homes.
Without it being full ... all the parking spots are taken as it's a bit of a "free for all" until they've all settled in and got their spot.
Their car parking spots aren't so easily spotted ... it's a tiny number pinned on the fence and an almost indiscernible line of driveway bricks separating them - it's all that brick paving, but you'd have thought they'd have made the separating lines more obvious. So no big chunky white lines individually/clearly numbered.
I suspect they will have more parking issues than we do here.0 -
I "excuse" my noseyness under the statement "It's what we all do - when somebody is moving in/out, we all like to have a quick look; if they're moving in, we want to make an instant/snap judgement on what sort of people they are - and whether we think they're like us ...or trouble"
You all know it.... you've all done it.
If Lydia didn't have kids to worry about .... I bet she'll have been up/down her stairs to peek from the windows with every tiny sound.... with occasional perimeter walks, with random items in her hand, in case she heard/saw something that she could make an instant judgement on ... before scuttling away because we don't like to "get caught".0 -

What's the availability of public transport like around you?
I know that some councils restrict the number of parking places in developments to encourage use of public transport instead of cars.
Southampton managed a cracker with the development next door to where I used to live - they only granted permission for one parking place per two flats, citing "to encourage sustainable transport"
Only, they then went and axed the bus service that ran past it !!!0 -

Trouble is, every time I've tried to catch a bus there are none for one reason or another.... at one point they cancelled all buses due to local ferals lobbing stones at the buses... and one busy weekend everything ground to a halt (I walked the mile into town in the end and no bus passed me).
The trouble with most people's local transport is it only goes one way .... there's not much choice like in big cities. And it's slow. If I were to get a job on the outskirts of the nearest town (8.5 miles) it's 20 minutes by car or 40 by bus.
The buses here are perfectly adequate if you've already got that as part of your lifestyle ... and have the spare time available for the extra commuting hassle/time. As a worker/commuter, bus -v- car loses you an hour a day.
Also - bus routes always change, at short notice. Services disappear, then reappear, then go a bit of a different way, or stop the one at the time you want that was there when you moved in.0 -

I've got an unusual 50p. Google it and it declares it's rare....
So you get a bit excited, thinking it's worth about £5.
So, where next... ebay. See what's REALLY happening. And the answer is you can buy them from 1p upwards (plus 89p postage) .... certainly dozens under £1, including one at 99p with free postage.
*sighs*.

Oh, hang on ... just put my specs on, mine's part of that set, but a different one. I've got the Squiggle.... which is the same value.

Yeah, right... not done that for those in my road yet!
Although this new lot are "next door" it's actually a different road, with different entrance and different road name and different postcode. I can just see down their row ... although unless I lean right out of the window in a perilous fashion I can actually just see into half of two gardens and I can see one actual house. But I do have a panoramic view of their car park
It's difficult knocking on random strangers' doors.... most people don't answer the door these days to strangers.... I noticed a neighbour'd left their headlights on the other day, so went round in torrential rain to let them know .... knocked....dog went crazy .... crazy .... no answer. Must've been on the loo or something. Anyway, it's not pleasant standing and knocking and not getting a response.0 -

This is the one you want to find. It is the rarest, Kew Gardens, and sells from £30 to £185 apparently.
(The highest prices go for ones in mint condition, so if it's been through people's hands a lot, you wouldn't get the higher price).(I just lurve spiders!)
