Is that the Mull of Galloway, Mull of Kintyre, Mull of Oa, Mull of Cara, Mull of Logan or the island of Mull?0 -

Masomnia was not asking for money. I took it more as a sort of 'save the date' for the house-warming party (but without the date). No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I didn't read it like that either, but thought I'd mention that a whip round wouldn't be forthcoming
Do people actually ever have house warming parties? Or are they a myth/what home-leavers do in their first flat?
I've never been to one, never had one.0 -

That doesn't work
All the best with your mortgage/flat. It's exciting, yet scarey, isn't it - but you do have to make a choice at some point and just do it.
Thanks, and yes that's exactly how I feel. Kept mulling it over in my mind and I'm still not 100% sure it's the right thing to do but like you say you've just got to make a decision sometimes and make the best of it
Thing is, I like where I live, I've been in the area 3 years and don't really want to move. But I think I'll like living in Inner Herts just as much if not more and my mortgage will be a lot less than my rent, I'll still be able to get into London easily etc. Still feels like a massive step.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Many, many blocks of small flats round my way. A lot bought under HTB; they may come unstuck in a few years as the 5 yr deal runs out and people look to remortgage.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Your choice .... your decision ... your mis-choice .... your mis-decision.
For everything... from whether you can eat a whole cake .... or whether the grass needs cutting and if it should be done today or left .... to selling/buying houses.
However, on the flip side, you don;t have to worry about pleasing anybody else either

Well, I say never... next door's elderly mother seems to be confused with how to close the patio doors. The answer is: close the door, lift the handle up, then just make sure you've felt that one last tiny "bump" and then you can lock it..... she's of the "if in doubt slam it" club.
She'll get used to it. It was a 2nd home, but they appear to have moved his elderly mother in over the last 2 weeks... so must have now said she wants picture hooks
Some people seem to have been born with hammer in hand.
Apart from fixing cladding or roof slates and similar, why the endless hammering outside?
We have two or three around here you can regularly hear.0 -
Have you tried suncalc.net? It works with Google maps and you can find the actual house and check the orientation. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
