I haven't got a room big enough for a baby grand that's for sure!
My upright joanna takes up enough room as it is!
No utility, and quite a narrow hall.(I just lurve spiders!)

Even so, it should be cheaper than mine was - £2700 for a team of two/three men (three to load, two to unload) and a big wagon to move all my stuff from Southampton to South Cumbria, excluding the stuff I brought myself in several car trips.
My back of fag packet says: pretty minimal stuff really ... 20 miles ... good access both ends... should be about £1k. Not actually had any quotes yet, mind0 -
It's a bit draughty up here !!!0

That still sounds a lot to me, but then I haven't had any removals done professionally for 25 years, and can't remember what it cost even then.
I do remember that the piano bumped the cost up a bit, but that's fair enough, as it's a specialist move.(I just lurve spiders!)

Pastures Perhaps you'll have a sink-and-a-half wherever you end up moving to
Sue I hope you're gradually recovering. How unfortunate that things didn't go to plan x

The Ventusky site was indicating 95ish on the high fells but only gusts of 65 or so where I am. It's quietened down considerably now - speeds of around 30mph gusting to 45 mph.
What's seemed really odd is that for quite a bit of the day it was blowing a hoolie but at the same time quite sunny0 -

Loo in the living room .... just looking through at houses for sale, none I'm interested in, but looking at layouts/etc.
One new build that's for sale has put the loo in the living room.
You step through the front door and are faced with the loo door; open plan stairs are just to the left of that - and if you take 2-3 steps from the front door you're in the living room. There is no wall whatsoever between the living room and the loo door.
Bit bizarre!

I don't know if it matters, but Google image search can find that house on RM.
I like that layout, actually. It's not an enormous house, so it seems sensible to incorporate the hall area into the living room. It's then inevitable that the loo is off the living room, as there's nowhere else it could be off.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Take a little "OAP sheltered bungalow style" semi ... add lots of red carpets and furniture and bright pink voile curtains on the windows and draped around the ceiling of the lean to, have a large Jacuzzi style bath and a separate wet room .... and outside your little 1 bed bungalow ... FILL the whole garden with a swimming pool. A proper, dug in, pool. Not an above the ground job .... with solar panels fitted to heat the pool.
I think these people liked water a LOT. And just in case you still can't cool down... there's air conditioning too.
There are some odd balls about
It does have a conservatory and ORP though.0
