You can only keep out of the way in a larger house... not a 2-up-2-down that's 12' wide. :)

My first house only had three rooms!
When they're downstairs, you go upstairs, when they're upstairs, you go downstairs or into the garden or something.

I think most viewers would feel a bit "rushed" if the owner were there lurking like a creepy hunchback that lives under the stairs :)

And, if you're "a bit odd" that might even put them off the house ... because of you.

The trouble is, if there are lots of viewings, it could be awkward if you have to keep going out all the time.
I really don't think it's unusual for the owner to be in.
Some owners show people round themselves, even if they have agents finding those people.

We have always showed people around our own home ourselves.
I'm not going to go out just because of viewings.

When I sold my last house I did some viewings as the agent phoned and said they had somebody and could I do it - and I did.

I think this lot of agents like to do the viewings as they're "sales closers" and don't like the owner to muck it up :) I went with them as I see them as closers and not ditherers.

If the agent said the viewer wanted me to do it, I'd do it.... as I know some people DO like that. But I'm not keen to meet a gazillion strangers and not babble :) 1-2 and I might not over-babble.... lots and my head would be in a babbling spin.

Yes, I must admit, I'd prefer the agent to be there and to do the 'stuff', and I would feel awkward, being there as well, but needs must. Also, it would be handy being on the spot if there were any questions the agent couldn't answer, plus the agent could safely field any questions that might be a deal breaker if I came out with the answer! Like, do you have quiet neighbours? :rotfl:

To be honest, I'm not sure I'd want to let someone view if I were on my own in the house, which would be likely, as you don't know what brand of axe or garrotte they might have up their sleeve/in their handbag.

Just done the opposite. De-cluttering our conservatory and taking the junk down the tip. In another 100 or so trips we'll finally be done!

    My decluttering is "creeping.....like snail".
I only do a tiny bit at a time. :(

I have pulled out a few things from kitchen cupboards that I know I won't use, so am giving them away, but other things still might be needed, so are being kept.
So, a few things from kitchen cupboards, a few tops from the wardrobe and two pairs of shoes, unworn. I won't wear them now, because they have zips which are stiff.

Still, the cupboards get tidied as I go, and I find things I'd forgotten I had, so it's a bit like Christmas! :D
    I is sad! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Rub a candle along them :)

Other common household items also work... crayons, chapstick ... google it and see what comes up that you've already got or can easily get.

Shame to throw them out if they might still "come in handy" :)

Tried all that stuff! It's also due to my wrists not working properly.
Plus one pair, the leather is stiff and rubs my ankles.

I have a very great many other shoes, (shoes are a bit of weakness), and have just bought two more [STRIKE]works of art[/STRIKE] pairs, so these zippy ones have to go, as I will not wear them. They were a purchase mistake. It happens.:(
