Been struggling today to keep motivated... it's my final day to "get it vaguely ship shape", which means "hide stuff away"... good storage cupboards are lacking in so many houses. Stuff boxed up and stacked in rooms isn't a good look... but unavoidable as I've nowhere to put the few I've not managed to hide.

I still need to sort out (again) the understairs cupboard to be able to get the vacuum in it... I usually just leave it out and plugged in as I vacuum the bit where I've been every day.

I really need a watertight shed just to lob stuff into :) My existing shed is full of the usual things, like a bike and a lawnmower ... and the leftover paint ... and a bag of decorating implements ... the rotary washing line, garden tools and a pop up thingy and the two new bags I bought ... and other stuff one keeps in a shed as it's "handy"... can barely get in there.

I fitted the lamp shade reducer rings... I was exceedingly wobbly up that ladder ... but lived.

Did a mini tip run; having prepared the table/chairs for a photo shoot ... there was one broken/ropey one loitering, so (to avoid other jobs) I took that to the tip.

I've washed the floor of the entire downstairs... and hand dried it. I think it "looks worse" and I'll have to go over it again "buffing" a bit :)

I had another small go with the window washer, on different windows... that was all right. Still got to wrap the hose up ... not sure where to put that to be honest.

    All hot and bothered now.

t some point I have to tackle and tidy "the broadband hub and leads and extension lead and all the leads coming out of there for the PC, monitor ... and the leads joining all those bits together"... I really need an empty box, but I've binned all those in the past tidying sessions :) Have to pop to Lidl. I'll just stand it on its side shove all the bits in there, then throw something (not sure what yet/got nothing) over the box... it's behind a unit, but visibly a mess.

    That's a good idea. :T
Or even kitchen roll innards, for longer or thicker ones.

It's general day to day use... cables lying on the floor as I sit here right now...

They get in such a mess/tangle and look unsightly.

If you think I've disappeared in the next couple of days, I've not ... I'm just busy with stuff and I've got a couple of errands to run and places to be.

    No need for search parties.

It's the one thing about technology I hate.

Even connecting up a TV, you have all these boxes, speakers, all these cables, all dangling around, collecting dust, and ruining what otherwise would be a "Homes and Gardens" perfect living-room! :D;)

And you need so many sockets that only an extension bar will suffice.
So that's lying around on the floor too.

The trouble is that as soon as you try and tidy them with those cable-tidy "hoses' or something, then you need to move one of the appliances and it all has to be unravelled.

At least I managed to label the plugs, so I know which is which.

I know wi-fi has helped to some extent, but it's limited. Plus, the long-term effect of all those 'death-ray' wi-fi waves bouncing around your house, fiddling with your brain, isn't really known. ;)

As soon as you talk about hiding cables and sockets, then you have the problem of heat building up, and the potential risks of that. And they never get all that well hidden, anyway.

Talking of wi-fi, I feel like Miranda every time I'm upstairs in my bedroom on the iPad wanting to print something, and I press print, and magically, I then hear the printer in the back room downstairs start whirring as it starts to print.

How does it do that? :):)

Mine aren't due to start until Saturday at the earliest...

I've looked at houses I could buy ... but not going to start phoning agents until next week... maybe I'll have had no viewers!

In my area I am one of three houses "like mine" - modern, 2 bed, terraced .... all on at the same price. One's new to market the day before mine.

Mine holds up well against them, but each has unique 'features' that makes them different. One sod's only gone and got a sunroom on his, but he's mid terrace (from memory). *sighs*. :) My "purchase killer" is location. Although I'm on "the right side of the road", my surroundings mean a lot of people will simply say "no" as it's not on a road/not in an estate.

Have to see now... what happens.

There is a nice one I've spotted to view - but it's not got some things I really want. I really want a conservatory ... always wanted one, never had one. The one that "looks nice" has no garage (parking for 2-3 on drive), no conservatory, no utility... and it's top of budget so no spare to get them myself. It was on at £315, but was reduced to £308 last week.... but I think I'm being sucked in by the "lovely look" of it (new 2016) and I want more "useful spaces".

With regard to your house selling, the thing to remember is that you did buy it, so it sold before, and so it should sell again.

At least you know that you haven't overpriced it, if it's on at the same price as the others, and if you are end-terrace and have your car space adjacent, they are definite pluses. Some people might prefer more garden space to a sunroom, anyway. What one person doesn't like, another person will.

My wireless printer is great at printing from my phone but struggles from the laptop. So now I forward from the laptop to the phone via the same wireless network that then prints from the phone.
