I think "more or less" did a show on this at one point. They played back snooker show recordings and counted the coughs. And yes they did seem to decrease over the decades. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

Regular cigs, at £8/pack (easy maths) = £6/day.
My rollies work out at £1.50/day.0 -
B4lls... just remembered, it's Wednesday and, if I'd thought sooner, I have somewhere to be as there's a car boot ....
Back in a bit, going to dash off, see if there's anything worth having.... I got the canvas there last week... so slim pickings, but you never know.0 -

There's bound to be some random stuff, you seem to have a penchant for that :rotfl:0 -
As an asthmatic, you can't begin to realise the difference the smoking ban made to me.
When I went to Sri Lanka a couple of years ago, I was very worried about how I'd get on with regard to smoking in public places, and was steeling myself for the worst.
I was very pleasantly surprised..... there wasn't any!
Similarly in Montenegro.
Does anyone know what the USA is like? Or does it vary from state to state?(I just lurve spiders!)

Does the breathing control with your singing help Pyxis?
USA is generally as smoke free as here. The worst offenders there tend to be holidaymakers from other countries with more smokers, e.g. South Americans. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? The US has just banned smoking in social housing. Opinions vary as to whether it's to help poor people give up smoking (so the government can bask in a glow of virtue) or to save on the costs of redecorating properties (not so virtuous), with trying to save money on medicaid (publicly funded healthcare for the poor) and helping prevent fires somewhere in between on the virtue scale.

Since they are a nation that feels much much more strongly than Brits usually do about the government not having the right to interfere in individuals' choices, this seems surprising to me.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Yes it does, although it's usually the other way round....... the lack of breath control makes sustaining phrases and long notes difficult at times. Not a problem when singing with a lot of other people, but makes it a bit tricky in, say, a quartet! :rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)

First purchase was a winner, £1 for a picture - which was on my list to look out for as I didn't have one "the right sort of colours and the right sort of size" (discerning art expert here...).
After that it went a bit Pete Tong.
Vase .... 50p. OK
Vase.... £2, offered £1, accepted. OK
3 vases .... £2.50 for 3. OK, it's out of control now... leave!!
So I am home with one picture and 5 vases. I think I've got a spot for four of them.0 -
It might be better to go back and buy one big vase to put the other ones in, like Russian dolls maybe. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
