I was up at 4am this morning - bl00dy early morning seagull squawkings and fights.

    Hottio now again.

Perhaps they were drunk from eating all those flying ants and became bellicose as a result! :D

We got about 3 drops last night enough to be notable this summer :(

We have given 3 kids parties the week - hard work.
    I think....

It can't be ... my neighbour hosts one every day, for 6-10 2-9 year olds .... starting about 3.30pm with toddlers, joined by older kids from 3.50pm onwards... bit of respite maybe at 6 for tea-time (unless it's like today when the BBQ gets fired up... and it rolls on ... it's still rolling on now (probably complete with BBQ as I can smell one).

Don't worry, (talking about the weather) another couple of months at the most and we'll have the cold and dark for six months. :D
Winter in Britain is like "30 Days Of Night" but a lot wetter, and less "interesting".

In the UK, for regular hours full-time workers, what you get is:

6 months when you drive to work in the dark and return in the dark.
    At weekends it's cold/wet.

6 months when it might be sunny some of the time - but you'll always be at work because by the time you leave it's early evening and "over" - and it'll usually rain at the weekends.

When you finally manage to book a week's holiday, your 3rd choice as the others weren't allowed ... it'll rain the whole week.

I used to hate that. I haven't worked "regular hours" for an employer since the mid 70s, I worked shifts after that until the 80s, but at least you get some time in the day that way.

My annual gas statement came yesterday.

    :(:(:(

I knew it would be up because a) I'd been ill a lot, so had been at home most of the time, inactive, with the heating on for longer, and b) needed to keep the air warm because otherwise the asthma got worse, and c) we'd had a very cold winter, and the cold weather started early and finished late.

It was up a lot, though. A lot. :(

The good news is that they owe me £33 from the electricity. However, that would probably get eaten up by my using my aircon machine and fans such a lot lately! :rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl:

We are getting particularly fantastic sunsets at the moment. Do you think that's due to pollution?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

There are no sunsets at my house. None, ever. The sun's gone behind the industrial units long before then.... about 4-5pm that's it.

And even that's on the other side of the house....
