I just tested my broadband speed, to put a figure on it, after all, everybody says theirs is "slow".
1.36 Mbps download
0.35 Mbps upload
Latency: 119 ms
Server: London
Your Internet speed is very slow
Your Internet download speed is very slow. Web browsing should work, but videos could load slowly.0 -
I've said on another thread, Hertfordshire is part of the Connected Counties initiative, meaning that local government is helping fund good broadband for everyone, county wide. Bucks I think is also a member.
I don't use it, but could now opt for ultra fast. It's a shame they don't do something similar where you are. Hopefully when you move it will be faster, I bet you have it on your list of wants for the new place. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

It will be interesting to see if any of that is due to the current PC working slowly. Or very slow wifi, perhaps. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I think it's available here now, but then it comes down to a couple of things:
1/ I'd have to look into it, compare, decide and CHOOSE. I don't do choosing/decisions.... easier to wait until a time when I either understand or feel able to tackle looking into it.
Part of changing is also price-dependent. If something costs more then you have to ask yourself if you "need" it or just "want" it because you're sucked in by a feeling that you have to have it/everybody has it.
It's that old "you don't miss what you never had" thing. I've never experienced "fast", so don't know what I'm missing.
2/ Planning on moving, I'd not be willing to investigate it as there'd, no doubt, be some contract involved - and so it's best left until I have moved, so I can choose based on that location and not this one.0 -
Bit of a Billy Bonus moment... which I thought might occur.
Bought PC yesterday, but went for "free delivery". I didn't really read how long that takes ... I just didn't want to pay extra for something that was desirable but non-urgent. I actually assumed it'd come Fri/Sat...
I just received a text saying it will allegedly be delivered tomorrow.
Looking at the seller's website, the delivery firm give a 1 hour delivery window ... which is fine ... just need to make sure the Loo Door App isn't activated....0 -

My internet used to be like that.
Got Fibre now.
37mbps down. 9Mb upload. A lot of copper wire to get here from the cabinet as well.0 -
Just phone your provider up and ask what's available, and what deal they'll give you.
I'll have to dig around and find my login information, find out what I've got, how much it is, then find a list online to see what's what and how much extra it might be.0 -

Passwords are a pain to keep track of. What I do is use a program called "Keepass" to keep all my passwords on. https://keepass.info/
(No affiliation)
It will also make good strong passwords.
(I sound like an advert!)

OMG ... it's horrendous. Logged in and seeing what I pay each month, I had no idea it was that much...
I need to dig around and see what's what now....
It's not easy, on a slow connection -and- I've ALWAYS found the BT site unnavigable... they don't even tell you which package you're on, so you have a lot of effort to even work that out....
I find their site is stuffed full of marketing speak and no facts.... and their site is SOOOOOOOO slow loading if I weren't right now determined I'd have given up. Still waiting (over 6 minutes) for their deals page to load - and I think I have to click through to another page, which I can't click until the first page's loaded.
Their cr4ppy site is one of the main reasons I've never ever logged onto my account after I'd tried it a couple of times... and now it seems worse.
The bugg4hs...
There must be something I can do to reduce this bill. It's for landline, calls, broadband.
EDIT: It's still a nightmare. They don't actually give you a phone number to call. 30 minutes ago I started with the "test your speed", which ended with no clues except a maybe clue that I had to wait 5-10 minutes, which I did and nothing changed on the screen and now it says I was mid way through reporting a problem (which I wasn't).
Just can't work out what I've got .... or phone them .... or do any form of comparison because I don't know what I've got and their pricing leaflet is full of confusing names and prices and just over-whelming.
This is why I've given up in the past....0
