This owning a garden malarkey's never ending isn't it. My ideal garden has always been "zero maintenance"

I started with a pair of hand shears... then, moving here and knowing it had a lawn, I bought a mower. Then there was trimming and weeding to be done, so that needed secateurs and a little pokey thing and a 3-pronged scrapey thing ... and I had a 10' high neighbour bush on the boundary at the time, so then I needed a "high reacher, with a string pull" ... and there were chunky bush branches, so I got a beefy twig cutter. Then I got a "pop up" weeding bin and a small flexibucket....

And I've had weed membrane ... and bark ... and tried a bit of picket fence (half way through that as I decided to paint it and it was awful paint ... so I need to find out how to water that paint down so it goes on quicker....)

I bought a "lawn edger" that you're supposed to stand on and it cuts nice edges - no it doesn't, if you weigh under 9 stone... probably expects you to weigh 12-15 to work. I wanted that to cut edges round the stepping stones.

Then there's all the fence brown stuff I had to buy - AND bl00dy paint on - and the brushes for that...

It's a good job I already had a shed for all this stuff.... else I'd have needed one of those.

    Hurray!

Now let's hope it's enough to make a difference and not just dampen the top of the soil.

It didn't rain in the end - there were some big spots, then nothing. It still might do, it's got that look about it....

£8.99 is OK - that looks like it has "all the bits".

What I thought I saw in Lidl just looked like a length of hose and it didn't appear to have the connectors ... and it was about £16-17... and as I was nervous/unsure and hadn't gone in there to buy such a thing, I walked away ...
Looks like it's a complete "kit" to me.

As Pyxis said it's best to take the bits with you if you go to a shop.

I can just picture PN doing that - complete with the tap, leaving the pipe peeing water all down the wall :rotfl:

I just removed the connector from the tap and took a peek, perchance size was written on it. No chance. Hoselock it said... you'd have thought they'd have put the size on it, to assist people when buying future replacement parts and to make it easier for them to buy the part they need rather than swapping to a competitor and something entirely new.

I'd take a bit of the wall too, just to be sure :)

Or just pull the whole house off the foundations, to save messing up the wall.

To be honest, I've got information overload now ... and if I added all the replies together I'd still be lost and confused.

I didn't plan on going to a shop. I liked the idea of buying that £8.99 "everything" pack from ebay... but then all that size/measurement stuff's all very complex, so now I daren't.

Ooh, I think I'll try that - fiddle with the hose and make it rain :rotfl:

Like the fitting on the tap in the top pic here?

Although it might be a different colour, the shape ought to be the same.

If so, that's a standard size, used by Hozelock and many other brands.
All you'd need is a hose with a Hozelock type fitting to clip onto it. That fleabay kit should fit.
