Debate House Prices
In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non MoneySaving matters are no longer permitted. This includes wider debates about general house prices, the economy and politics. I occasionally post an untruth on here so that anyone tracking me would be thrown off the scent. It doesn't really make any difference to the overall flavour, it's more to catch anyone out who has an unhealthy interest. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Don't suppose we will upgrade ours until we can get 85 inchers at a sensible price at which point the 65 will go to the bedroom which currently has the 46 that used to be in the family room, that will go in DS room and his 40 will go to DD2 and her 32 to DD1 who is in the box room and currently only has a 22.
Chavtastic
Only 85"!
You disappoint me! I'd have thought it'd be the whole wall or nothing!
And as regards the hand-me-down TVs, what does the poor little orphan skivvy in the garret get? iPlayer on an old iPad?
Or binoculars to watch the TV in the house across the road where they never close their curtains?(I just lurve spiders!)

Here seems to be the only safe internet place where I can say I'm going on holiday tomorrow! Posting on facebook that the house will be empty, even on friends only postings no longer considered safe.
If I put my route anyone random who knows me could identify me, so I'll just say exploring Canada.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. There comes a time when the offspring don't want TVs in their room as they watch everything on their laptops.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Yes me too. Not as LydiaJ, but I have a "secondary" MSE UID that I use if I want to post a question or something, with details about myself that I don't want to broadcast to any old acquaintance who has recognised that "LydiaJ" is me. Generally this has been when I've wanted to ask questions on the more "financial information" type boards and include details of my finances. I haven't done that for quite a while, though. So my "rules" are:
LydiaJ can post stuff that's recognisable as me but must never post financial details or anything else that I wouldn't want to broadcast about myself, or anything that would upset anyone if they realised I was posting about them.
SecretUser can post financial information etc, but must never post anything that can be recognised as me.
I checked before posting this that there isn't a real user called SecretUser, to avoid confusion. I discovered that there are 117 MSE UIDs with the text string "secret" in them. Of these, nine are also among the 139 UIDs that have "squirrel" in them:
secret squirrel
secret-squirrel
secret.squirrel
secretsquirrel
secretsquirrel007
Secretsquirrel13
Secretsquirrelfish
secret_squirrel
secret_squirrel85Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
