Had a lucky find, 5 GU bulbs for £1 .... so that'll be the kitchen lights sorted, I needed three.
Got some plain/cream "faux silk" curtains that were worth trying.... still in the pack, with tie backs, £3. Having them gives me choices/options .... rather than not having a choice and/or having to spend £40-50 on new ones that'd do. Only thing I "dislike" about them is they are plain and I was looking for something of a pattern to "lift" the starkness...
Not sure you could even give away non-led GU10s nowadays
WE have various bags of curtain hooks etc - each time we need some though it is normally quicker to spend a quid buying some more from poundland rather than finding where they are put away....I think....0 -
You can get curtain rings that clip round the pole. Saves taking the pole down to thread them on from the end.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

I'll check £land, I could pop up there later....never been aware of them before, but I wasn't looking before. Need both parts, rings AND hooks to do it.
I found that a lot of these things were sold in, say, packs of 4-5, so I'd have needed 8-10 bags at whatever price a single bag was - and it all adds up.0 -

Regarding bits and bobs for the house. A few months back, Aldi had lots of nautical themed decorative items for the home. Being that we must be a good 60-70 miles from the nearest proper coast (as opposed to the Thames estuary); these all went into the half price sale bins.
It's s0ds law I tell ya. I bet they never dropped as cheap in Pasturesland. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I would have thought people who don't live by the sea would be more likely to buy nautical items; people near the sea can just look out of their window.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Mass produced compressed MDF stamped with a picture of no note in the main.... most wouldn't touch that except on a strange whim....
I see a lot of it, everywhere. I'd rather go without than see a lot of the tat that's for sale for the sake of cashing in on a "trend" the Chinese are manufacturing for.
I just googled it. This lot starts on 15 June.
