Very creative! Don't forget that you can just pick wild
Grass at this time of year and it can look very good.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    Very inventive, Pastures!

It reminds me of something I saw on TV this morning.....one of those garden makeover progs. Charlie Dimmock made two garden sculpture/tall planter things by taking an old towel and soaking it in wet cement, the draping it over a plant pot on a stick. The cemented towel then hung in draped folds and was left to set.

When it was set, it was up-ended and stood in a flower bed. I must admit, it was very effective and cost next to nothing. I daresay you could paint it if you wanted too.

Edit....This was the sort of thing............

    ...cemented towel ...

Plant pots and planters etc are a ridiculous price. That one looks good, but when you work out the logistics of right sort of towel (dimensions/material) ... and cement ... and faffing ... I bet it takes a few to get it looking right.

I just thought.... she left no drain hole in that towel!

I either don't know what that is .... or it might be the single long grass pieces I've been pulling up from the front/wild garden area (brambles, sticky stuff, bindweed area) ... and putting in the cuttings bag :)

I thought the same about the drain hole, Pastures, but of course she may well have put a hole in it once it had set :)

Flat pack furniture - I've just remembered we gave Mr ivyleaf a round of applause when he assembled an ottoman and a chest-of-drawers from MFI :D The only trouble was that he assembled them in the living room as it was the only place with enough space, and then they had to be taken upstairs.....We were both younger and stronger then, though :)

Joe has found his cooking gene....

After the success of the steak last week, he again attempted steak this week except this time without me on the end of the phone and with adding some veg to the plate. The result was not too bad, the veg needed a little longer (he did it in the microwave) and the steak was cooked a little over than he wanted but he still enjoyed it.

Then yesterday he finally overcame his fear of the cooker and did himself honey roast potatoes which from the photo he sent me, looked absolutely amazing.

Ok, we still had the shopping via phone call earlier in the day but he's really gaining confidence now and wanting to try more and more recipes and the biggest bonus, he is finally using the kitchen pack I purchased for him, it had sat in the box since last September but on getting it out he discovered that not only did it have baking and roasting trays, pots and pans but it also contained a peeler and the kitchen knife set I had slipped down the side.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

It's easier when it's somebody else's ... because, ultimately, if it does all catch fire/blow up ... you can move out and it's not your problem :)

If she'd put a hole in the towel before cementing it, then it wouldn't have been suitable for indoor use had she wanted - better to make holes only if required.

How disappointing - I was expecting you to say that, when assembled, they either wouldn't fit through the doors or up the stairs so had to come apart again :rotfl:

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
