I blubbed as well :D They looked so happy.

Thanks for telling me the hooks weren't too difficult to prise off - the paint's been there more years than i care to remember! The walls in the hall are that awful Artex that looks like the top of a Christmas cake. I think there's a thick paint you can get to smooth them over, or I suppose we could have the walls replastered.

That's what I inherited in this house......... hall walls covered in a horrid sharp, skin-scraping artex.-type stuff.
When I had the house renovated 18 years ago, I was advised that the options were machine-sanding it smooth (and never being able to get rid of the dust), or plastering over it, so I opted for the latter. It then had a rather nice William Morris paper put on it, which gave me the colour scheme for the rest of the house.

    And no more scraped elbows!

Interestingly, the rest of the house now needs redecorating, but the hall is still fine! Just as well, 'cos I love that wallpaper! :)

:o:o Am now watching the wedding highlights.

Wasn't there some football game on? :D

I thought it was very very nice, the way Prince Charles looked after Meghan's mother.

Noooo! Don't sand artex. It may have asbestos in it.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Yes, I'd heard that. i have also heard it depends on the age of the Atrex, but we have no idea when it was put onto the walls, so plastering is definitely the way to go! i'm sure it will happen one of these days.....
