I've just won a top of the range food processor in a prize draw! :):):)

Now, seeing as how I can't remember when I last used the food processor I already have, which was a very nice present to me in the early 80s when I was into cooking all sorts of things from scratch, I'll have to decide whether to keep it or sell it unopened. It's pretty pricey to buy retail.

The only problem with deciding is because it comes with a very expensive attachment that I could actually use a lot at the moment, to do something which I find painful to do manually at the moment due to damaged wrists. The attachment is extremely unlikely to fit my old processor.

    Hmmm.

I suppose I could find out if there is a similar attachment that might fit my old processor, sell the new one and use some of the money to buy that.

    Next question......
If it's completely unopened, what percentage of the Amazon price could I ask, do you think? The John Lewis price is about £50 more than the Amazon price.

Well done, but, as you now realised, you've all the hassle of researching your choices and options and making a DECISION!

You could always "keep it, it might come in handy" ... :)

It's raining here now. Cold, big rain drops.

Clear blue skies and warm here.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

PN - sorry to hear the stress you are under. I think the next move should b nowhere near a school of any kind!

You don't need to undercut the amazon price at all. Where are you selling it? If you Bay it, you don't need a price at auction.

I don't know..... I've never sold anything online before.
Am a bit nervous, to be honest.
I don't want to have to send it to someone....it's big and heavy, apparently.

I'd prefer someone local who would come and pick it up, so maybe Gumtree?

But as it's unopened, how do I know they won't damage it and then say it was already damaged?

Re. the price........ it's technically second-hand, even though it's unopened, so I reckoned I'd have to ask less than what someone would pay to a retailer, as they wouldn't be covered by the sale of goods act buying from me, would they?

The washing machine and fridge might help your house sell instead of empty holes where appliances should be. You leave them behind included in the sale, and take your fridge freezer with you.

Sunny here, again, but it's been very breezy all day and a bit nippy.

It's not that simple, to leave them, as they might not want them and as they've not been used for 3+ years they might need "a tinkering" - and/or they might stop working after a few days and then I get hit by questions/them being annoyed.

Not sure how to "dress" the space at the moment... but I think washing machines in kitchens look ugly anyway. As they're not built in, they might not notice I've not got one. I expect a buyer to be in the kitchen a total of about 30 seconds.... that's it "here's the kitchen..." "Ah, yes, lovely" .... and onto the next room.

I suspect more people will be removing washing machines from kitchens, where possible, in the future, as more become "scared" of them like I am due to so many catching fire in the news :)

I'm OCD about fire but my washing machine is staying in my kitchen...I can watch it if it's in there whereas I wouldn't be able to watch it if it was out of the house completely in an out house or something.

And I could never be without a washing machine....

    ... nowhere near a school ....

I'm not in one, I'm in a preferred catchment area for primary age children... so I suspect this area's going to be lots of "young families" being here to get in there .... then moving later to be elsewhere/nearer to the big school.

Because it's "outstanding", they will be wanting to bring their kids, aged 0-10 or so, to live in this catchment area, rather than the other one 100 yards away where there's unlimited large open grassy spaces and playgrounds for kids to run free and play. Grass on every road, a massive 1/4 mile long 20' wide strip too ... unlimited stuff/space for them there, but that school's not "outstanding".

So, rather than families "growing up here" and getting older, I suspect it's just like a wild west coach stop to get them into the better school ... which is about half a mile from my house I think.
