As an aside, did you know that Post-It notes came about as a result of an accident?
In 1968, Dr. Spencer Silver, a scientist at 3M in the United States, was attempting to develop a super-strong adhesive. Instead he accidentally created a "low-tack," reusable, pressure-sensitive adhesive. For five years, Silver promoted his "solution without a problem" within 3M both informally and through seminars but failed to gain acceptance. In 1974 a colleague who had attended one of his seminars, Art Fry, came up with the idea of using the adhesive to anchor his bookmark in his hymn book. Fry then utilized 3M's officially sanctioned "permitted bootlegging" policy to develop the idea. The original notes' yellow color was chosen by accident, as the lab next-door to the Post-It team had only yellow scrap paper to use.0 -

Is that the really thick brown stuff?
My mum had a set of two saucepans, both "half shaped", so you had two halves of a circle sharing the same ring... the handle broke on one and dad just glued the end onto the stump of joint and that's what mum had to use for the next 20 years.
All the brown glue was all over the place, it wasn't done carefully or aesthetically at all.0 -
Araldite is a pale brown colour. Very useful as it has good gap filling ability. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Woohoo.
My broadband dropped this morning and failed to reconnect for over an hour so I suspected that work was being done. Therefore, when I went out shopping, I went up the road first instead of straight down the road - to find two BT engineers busy commissioning the new fibre broadband cabinet that was installed a few weeks ago, less than 200 yards away.
The router's just reconnected and the current connection speed is five, yes five, times faster than I had before :T:T:T:T
OK, the speed may drop a bit as it retrains over the next week or so to achieve the best reliable connection it can determine but, knowing how the stuff works, I very much doubt that it'll drop back to anywhere near what it was before.
I'm going to have to be a bit more careful from now on, else I'll be getting webpages before I even ask for them :rotfl:0 -

I just, forlornly, tested my BB speed.
1.66Mbps download
0.35Mbps upload.
I have a routine now though: Request a webpage ... wander off and make a coffee ... come back and see how it's getting on .... get half way through drinking the coffee... and see the webpage
