I am always appalled that in Asda which has only very large stores aimed at lower income households the shelf space dedicated to ingredients as basic as big bags of rice and pasta is minimal.
There's usually an aisle with tins in it ... and an aisle where you find rice/pasta... then it's off to bread for a cheap loaf ... and down to chilled for cheap cheese and spread ... and you're done.
Oooh and some stuff from frozen (just peas/chips ...not the fancy desserts bit).
I miss out most aisles in most shops these days. For starters I don't want any pet food or nappies ... cleaning stuff is bought in £land/4ldi/L1dl, as are shampoo, bubble bath and toothpaste. I also don't do the booze aisle - and mostly skip past the crisps/nibbles/nuts ... and by-pass biscuits and "bakery treats". The deli counter is no longer cheap cheese and cheap corned beef, so I'm never at the deli counter ... nor the fish counter ... nor the meat aisle or counter.
I completely avoid most of the chillers these days - just very pricey Higgity Pies and organic bespoke baked goods with grinning TV chef faces on the boxes.
I've finally broken my reliance on Pepsi by the way .... L1dl 45p/2 litre Ginger Beer no Added Sugar. It's brilliant. I even bought 8 cans of Pepsi about a week ago ... and haven't felt the urge to drink more than the first one! I need cans when I go on a road trip - you can't drink from 2 litre bottles.... you need cans for car trips.0 -
BBC Four (Freeview channel 9) - not sure what it is ... started 10 minutes ago:
The Horizon Guide to Space Shuttles.
Looks like loads of old footage and facts and footage from outside and inside and interviews with people who have been on them.0 -
Joe is getting adventurous now...he 'cooked' beans on toast last night. He's dead chuffed with himself especially as the toast wasn't THAT burnt :rotfl:We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
